Story
Snoopy: Male Beagle Mixed Breed Puppy - Hi, I’m an enthusiastic 1 year old, 45 lb puppy who loves to play. I have lots of energy to play with dogs and chase a ball. I am food motivated which helps with training though it’s hard to stay in a sit position and wait for a treat. I’m working on that. I am crate trained and potty outside with few accidents indoors. I love exploring on my daily walks. If you think I’ll be a perfect fit, fill out an application at www.buffalounderdogs.com ##1840838##

Story
Allie is a 3 year old female Beagle. She weighs about 20 lbs. She is a friendly girl who is good on a leash and good with kids and other dogs. She is a possible fence climber. Allie will be spayed prior to adoption and is currently at the Shelter.  Volunteers For Animals periodically pulls dogs from other shelters to free up space; this helps avoid euthanizing healthy, adoptable animals. We are able to do this through the generosity of many people such as the originating shelter staff, transporters, foster volunteers and others who help with pulling fees, vet bills and finding good homes once they are here. The adoption process includes an application that is completed by the potential owner. If there are multiple applications on the same animal, the animal will go to the best home for that particular animal - not necessarily the first application. Fees for the rescues animals can range from $100 to $300 per animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If you are interested in any of the Rescue dogs, please email us. Do not call the Shelter regarding rescue animals - they have no information about these dogs. All rescue animals are in foster homes with volunteers - NOT at the Shelter - unless otherwise noted.  Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. There is a $60 fee for any animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, there is a $35 deposit which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs must be licensed before leaving the Shelter. Please note that public offices that issue dog licenses are not open on Saturdays and Sundays. All cats must leave in a carrier.   Thank you for considering a homeless animal.August 18, 2024, 2:44 pm

Story
Loki is just the sweetest, most endearing little girl. She was found on a beach as a baby in Puerto Rico and soon after it became apparent that she was having difficulty seeing. She was taken to a specialist who diagnosed her with congenital cataracts(she was born with them). He said that often as the dog grows and the eye grows that their sight can improve as the lens outgrows the cataract and they can see around the sides of it. In Lokis case this is true and she can now see some and often it is difficult to tell that she ever had a sight problem. She does not know that she is different in any way and is a completely happy and well adjusted little girl of about 25 pounds. Loki sometimes feels threatened by female dogs and seems most comfortable and happy with male dogs. She is affectionate to all people and the perfect size for snuggling. She is quiet and gentle. Our adoption fee is $400 and unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, 4DX tested(if age appropriate), Put on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked and flown from Puerto Rico. For more information on adopting please email madrescueofwny@aol.com and fill out our online application at https://form.jotform.us/70927213338153

Story
Paola was found on a busy highway with her sister Andrea and their deceased siblings. These girls are survivors as we do not know how they managed to dodge the cars! They were destined to live and to find families! Paola is very affectionate, and at about 8 months old she is about 20 pounds. We believe she will be a medium sized adult. She has learned manners and how to share well with other dogs, and she loves her time spent with other furry friends! She does not care about the cats in the rescue. Luana will arrive in Albion, NY at the beginning of September and we would love to have a family waiting to meet her!
