NELSON - Male 8+ years old “All he wants is a full bowl, a comfy bed and someone that will take him on some sniff time walks. He’s pretty much a happy go lucky fellow. Very affectionate towards everyone.”Nelson is recovering from some possible tick borne diseases and some kidney issues. It is well maintained on meds and he is on the upswing! We wouldn’t recommend a home with lots of stairs. He gets around well but has some difficulties. Meet Danni! This beautiful beagle mix is ready for her new adventure. With you! Though our focus is usually on cats, this little lady was abandoned on our road and never claimed by her former "owners". We have fallen in love with her during the short time she's been with us! Sweet, affectionate, and playful, she is the perfect dog in our humble opinion and would do great with a family or a solo pet parent. She loves attention and craves to be with her person 24/7. She is the pupper equivalent of Velcro! She seems to do great on a leash. She is not yet kennel trained. (This needs work!) Danni is a medium-sized dog around 40 pounds. Approximately 1-2 years old. She gets along great with other dogs and is submissive to them. She WILL chase cats if she spots one in the distance, but she coexists peacefully with them when they are in her space. We believe she would also chase livestock if given the opportunity, so she is probably not suited for farm life. She currently lives outside but very much wants to come inside! We envision her being the type of dog who would snuggle on the couch with you after a fun day of hiking! She is currently being trained on an electric fence and learning like a pro. Danni is scheduled for her spay and vetting on September 17th and will be available for adoption after that, but we are accepting applications now. This cute young female Beagle mix (who has been given the name Rosita) was brought to the HSOV late in the afternoon on August 11, 2024 by a Good Samaritan who found her on County Road Nine in Washington County Ohio (near the 17-mile marker). She was wearing a collar but was not microchipped. Rosita has a beautifully-marked tan/black/white short smooth coat, a long tail, and an adorable symmetrically-marked face with brown 'teddy bear' eyes, a chocolate nose on her slender muzzle, and large folded-over ears. This little sweetheart has a super-friendly 'Type A' personality and was a definitely a happy camper when HSOV Volunteer Emma Dahlgren accompanied her for outdoor photos. She was full of playful puppy-like energy and fairly strong on a leash for her size (approximately 25-30 lbs). In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Rosita will be held for three days so that her family will have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership.

Just look at that precious salt-and-pepper face! Gunter is your typical older beagle; laid back, friendly, and always following his nose! Gunter does have some medical concerns that will require a good relationship with a veterinarian, but he doesn't let that get him down! Gunter is till a happy-go-lucky guy who's ready to put his time in the shelter behind him and find his retirement home. This sweet fella is tiny but mighty, and you can't help but to fall in love with those handsome puppy-dog eyes immediately. Margaret was found in the woods and brought to me about a few months ago. She is very friendly and loves to play. Unfortunately I am not able to care for her. She is house broke. She needs room to run. She is a runner and doesn't listen very well. She seems to get a long with other dogs but not cats or other animals. She would be great for someone who lives outside of the city.

We are getting ready to move from a house to an apartment in which we can not have dogs. It is very difficult to rehome the pups but it is what needs to happen and we just want Ralphie to find a "Fur ever" home that treats him with kindness, love, and provides him attention. Ralphie is a sweet beagle mix and is 6 years old. He gets along with the other dogs in the family, including Shadow, Garcia, Copper, & Doodle (all are beagle mixes as well). They range in age and size, Doodle & Copper are under 10lbs while Garcia and Shadow are approximately 15 and 20 lbs. There are a mixture of males and females in the home so this is not an issue either. Ralphie however, is more of a loner dog. He doesn't mind the others but he hangs back and observes their play rather than participate. He is extremely quiet, not a barker, and very friendly.

Copper needs a "Fur Ever" home soon! We have to leave our home and move to an apartment where dogs are not permitted. Please take a look at his profile and see what a wonderful addition he would be to your family. Copper is one of many dogs in the family and loves to play. He especially loves to hang out with Spaz and Shadow, two other beagle mixes in the home. He also likes to play with the humans in the home as well. When playtime and feeding time are over he loves to get cuddly and chill. He is a very loving little guy who deserves a great family who will bring him as much joy and he will them.
