Story
Kiki is a friendly 3 year old Beagle. Before her current family bought her, she lived in a kennel at a breeder for the first two years of her life. Unfortunately, due to a human injury, her owner can no longer care for her. She enjoys car rides and going for walks, and absolutely loves meeting other dogs along the way. She is an expert at catching a scent, so her nose sometimes gets the better of her and she does pull when leash walking. Due to being overweight, she is on Hills diet kibble, and walks and exercise are essential in her new home. She can be a bit nervous at the groomers and the vet, but she is very well behaved, showing no signs of aggression during physical manipulations or handling. She is a shy girl, who needs gentle introductions to new people, and patience and calm as she gets used to them being in her space. It may take her time to warm up to visitors, and she will often back away, especially from men, whom it takes her longer to trust. Kiki does not like to be left alone and will bark if she is, so her preferred home would be a house, not an apartment or condo and with someone who is home most of the time. She is currently left at a sitter if no one will be home. She toilets in the yard and also on pee pads in the house. Due to her background in a kennel, it is unknown if she is housetrained when the pee pads are taken away, but some work on this might be required. She has also been known to guard bones from her human and would likely guard these from other animals as well, but the good news is, it seems just to be chew bones, and nothing else (although another high value item might trigger the guarding) This sweet young girl really wants to find a place where she can settle down and live her best life, frolicking in the backyard, going for long walks, and being a loving member of the family.
