Story
FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOMES NEEDED!! ***Please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form*** We would love to welcome Autumn into the Fetch + Releash family on September 15, 2024 (subject to change). In order for Autumn to come into our care, we need a committed family. As a foster-to-adopt family, you'll be expected to take her home on her arrival date. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until their new forever family can be found. Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog's nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking, and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions. Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however, foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet in Mississauga, ON for further vet care. During your foster-to-adopt trial, you'll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit. Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Autumn / Female / 7 months / 27 pounds / Beagle mix / from Tennessee Autumn was surrendered from a hoarding case. She was one of 11 puppies and is the last remaining female of the litter alongside her brother. The only thing we know about her past is that her mom was a beagle but Autumns mix is a mystery. Autumn and her brother had been at the local humane society for months with no interest before being taken in by our reacue partner. She is your typical pup, sweet, friendly and playful. Now that she's out of the shelter she has had access to toys and she absolutely loves them. She shares a run with her brother but is often happily playing on her own. Although she is a hound, she has been fairly quiet but is known to be a more typical beagle from time to time. Autumn's new family will need to work with her on the basics such as potty training and mastering walking on leash. Further training commands like sit, stay, heel and much more will also need to be learned. She has had exposure to a crate so crate training should be a breeze. Training is a great way to build a strong bond with your new companion as well as an opportunity to build their confidence. Autumn is good with children and other dogs, so she will make a great family pet whether she lands in a home with or without another dog. Autumn has not been tested with cats so a cat-free home may be preferred at this time. She is medium energy with puppy playfulness so her needs will be easily met with 2-3 walks a day and some puppy enrichment. Autumn is a sweet, friendly soul looking for the furever home and loving family she deserves. As a condition of the adoption contract, Autumn's new family will be required to attend and complete a basic obedience class at their own cost (proof required). If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Autumn's adoption fee is $900. He was one of 11 puppies and is the last remaining male of the litter alongside his sister. His mom was a beagle but his mix is unknown. Coal and his sister had been at the local humane society for months before being taken in by our partner. We broke these siblings out of the local shelter for a bigger space to play and more opportunity to find a forever home. Seeing them in the new environment with access to toys and more space has really let their true colours shine. Coal is your typical sweet and playful pup but being smaller, he lets his big sister take the lead. Coal has lived in the shelter environment most of his short life so his new family will need to work with him on the basics such as potty training and mastering walking on leash. Further training commands like sit, stay, heel and much more will also need to be learned. Being crated should not be an issue. Training is a great way to build a strong bond with your new companion as well as an opportunity to build their confidence. Coal is typically a quiet guy but has been know to let his inner beagle show from time to time. He is good with children and other dogs, but he has not been tested with cats so a cat-free home may be preferred at this time. He is medium energy with puppy playfulness so his needs will be easily met with two walks a day and some puppy enrichment. He enjoys toys so things like puzzle toys will likely get him excited so he can also use his nose! Coal is patiently awaiting a family of his own so he can soak up all the attention he truly craves and deserves. Prior to coming into care, Coal tested positive for Anaplasmosis which is a tick-borne disease that can stay in the bloodstream for many years. He is currently on doxycycline for 30 days after which we recommend that she is retested in 6 months to ensure the Anaplasmosis has gone into a dormant state. He will arrive with any remaining medication to complete treatment (if not completed). It is recommended that Coal get an annual blood test to monitor the disease and that any pre-op blood work should include a CBC test and platelet count before any surgeries or dental extractions. As a condition of the adoption contract, Coal's new family will be required to attend and complete a basic obedience class at their own cost (proof required). If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Coal's adoption fee is $900. Friendly with a tail that just doesn't stop!A sensitive boy who's been through a lot - he was found wandering the streets and nobody came to claim him. He has been in two different shelters in a short period of time, despite this he warms up quickly and before you know it he will jump on your lap and settle in.ABOUT TWIGGY: - Beagle Mix, Small-Medium-sized, Medium-energy- 4 year-old, Male, 28 lbs- Loves a belly rub and showing affection- He is not overly playful, he enjoys a tennis ball but mostly he just likes being by your side- He is good on a leash and true to his breed, nose to the ground- Neutered, house-trained, microchipped and has his core vaccinationsTWIGGY'S IDEAL HOME:- Twiggy loves his walks and would do well with a family that enjoys the outdoors- Twiggy would benefit from nosework and mental enrichment games- He needs a home with adults only as he does not like to share his toys or food (resource guarding). No other pets in the home for this reason as well.- Although he hasn't been overly vocal in the shelter, we are not recommending him for a home with shared wallsOverall, Twiggy is a sweet affectionate doggy with a happy go lucky attitude thatwill be a wonderful addition to the right home. Story
Meet Alfie: The Playful Pup Ready for His Forever Home! Age: 1 Year Weight: 30 Pounds Breed: Beaski (Beagle & Husky Mix) Hello, future family! I’m Alfie, a 1-year-old Beaski bursting with personality and charm. Weighing in at a solid 30 pounds, I’ve got the perfect mix of energy and cuddles. My playful nature and love for adventure make me the ideal companion for a family ready for fun and excitement. I’m a friendly and affectionate guy who gets along well with other dogs and people of all ages. I am very gentle and do well around dog-savvy kids of all ages. Whether it’s going for long walks, playing fetch in the yard, or just snuggling up on the couch, I’m up for anything that brings joy and connection. I’ve got a beautiful blend of Beagle and Husky traits – curious and intelligent like a Beagle, and energetic and loyal like a Husky (plus those beautiful Husky eyes). I’m eager to learn new things and would thrive in a home where I can get both physical and mental stimulation. My family is going to have to help me with training and socialization to become an even more good boy than I already am! I’m looking for a loving home where I can be part of the family and share all my love and enthusiasm. If you’re ready to add a bit of fun and a lot of love to your life, I’m your guy! Ready to meet me? Come on over and let’s see if we’re a perfect match! Contact my rescue Cause 4 Paws Toronto at c4ptoronto@gmail.com if you live in Ontario within 3 hours of Toronto and would like to get to know more about me or the foster-to-adopt program to make me yours!
