Story
Beagle /Cocker Spaniel mixCharlie was born December 8, 2021 to a Cocker Spaniel mom and Beagle dad. He is completely crate trained and house traine. Charlie walks great on a leash, but like any typical Beagle, his nose never leaves the ground. He is extremely sweet natured, and plays well with his four legged foster siblings. If given the chance, Charlie will chase cats. He loves to run around his yard and police it of squirrels! Please send us your phone number if you would like to hear more about Charlie. November 26, 2024, 9:00 am

Story
Hi everyone my name is Gretchen and I am a three to four-year-old purebred Beagle girl that weighs 35 lb and I found myself homeless in a small town in Tennessee. People said that I was roaming the neighborhood for a while and no one knew who I belonged to. The shelter found Critter Cavalry Rescue to take me and I am looking for a home with a retired man because Critter Cavalry has found that I probably was abused by a woman.  I can be nice to them but I don't want to live with them.   They intimidate me and I am truly very fond of a man's attention.  I am good with other dogs and can hang out with and be best friends forever. I love people and I am friends with every dog and cat that I meet. As you can see, I am a happy girl and they tell me that I'm quite pretty too. No one knows much about me except that I have a sweet smile, a great personality and I love people that let me snuggle with them. I promise that I will be your cuddly snuggle bug and your best friend forever. I am looking for a Beagle loving home. I would welcome children as a part of my life and I can live with other dogs and even cats. They have tested me with everything and said I'm pretty perfect. If you are interested please write immediately to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 7, 2024, 10:11 pm

Story
This precious purebred Beagle girl just turned 10 years old and for the last 9 years this girl was a girl who was used as a taste tester dog for a dog food manufacturer.  In October of 2023 this girl was adopted with the great hopes of giving her the many last years of her life a new life with a family who could provide that special home she never has had.  For 15 months all was going well for her.  A quiet girl that weighs 22 pounds and is very petite for a Beagle, she learned how to be loved and give love right back.  She lived with another dog and went to work some days with her mom.  Coffee Bean was all set until a new baby entered the home and then her world changed.  She shut down and retreated and hid from her human mom and dad there in the home.  It was apparent that this girl was sadly not comfortable with a baby in the house.  This loving couple can see that Coffee Bean needs to find a different home soon so that she can readjust and find peace and quiet.  She is so very affectionate and sweet and we think that CB would be the delightful companion for a retired couple or woman who lives alone and wants to have Coffee Bean as her new best friend!  She does well with male dogs, but with female dogs she will have issues if they are bigger than her (smaller breeds are fine). She is not 100% housebroken but has few accidents and we want to be clear on that.  She lived in a kennel for 9 years and so she was not required to be housebroken 100%. She rarely has an accident! She's done well to tolerate the cat and should be fine with another cat if required.  We envision a home where someone is home a lot or can take this girl with them places.  She craves the companionship and will not do well being home alone for long hours while someone is away at work.  A  retired family where she could be a couch potato and a nice yard for her to do her beagle running and sniffing would be fabulous.  She is not a frequent barker, just the usual alerts when someone is at the door or a squirrel has entered the yard uninvited.  She just loves everybody and wants nothing but pets and cuddles!  This lovely girl is gentle and very soft in her personality with people. She is not demanding and loud and just wants a more peaceful life during her senior years.  We project another good five years or more are in her future.  Want to invite this girl into your world?  Just email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  She is ready NOW!   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 8, 2025, 1:25 pm

Story
Lily is a 6 year old Beagle Dalmatian mix. She is a loving ball of ENERGY. I got her when she was 2.5 months old fun fact: her name was actually bacon bits when I adopted her! I got her from an SPCA shelter in Virgina. She was a rescue from Puerto Rico. Lily struggles with separation anxiety when left alone for long periods of time (tv helps, loves Bluey). I used to be able to be home with her more because of the pandemic, but unfortunately now I have a new job where I am in the office more than I am home. I love this dog more than life she is the sweetest, but I just do not have the time to tend to her energy and provide her the life she deserves. I want to find Lily a new home with experienced dog owners, that preferably don’t have other dogs. I don’t know how she would respond to a home with another pet since she never had that experience. I want to find her a home where she will get the attention and care she needs, as well as plenty of outlets for all her energy.

Story
Snoopy! Lovely Snoopy is an approx 2 year old medium sized (32 lb) female mixed breed. We estimate she may be part beagle and catahoula leopard dog, along with a bunch of other surprises! Snoopy ended up in a shelter with the surrender reason of "escapes" but the longer story it appears that the kids in the home tasked with caring for her lost interest. We don't see how that is possible though, Snoopy is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. Snoopy is good with other dogs, and has lived with cats and kids in her former home. She can initially be a little shy with new men, but we know food and time wins her over. Snoopy does well in a crate and appears housebroken, although she likely will have some accidents as she transitions to a new home and routine. Snoopy is up to date on vet care and is already spayed and vaccinated and will be microchipped prior to adoption. She is also heartworm tested (negative), up to date on preventatives and has had a negative fecal test. Interested? Please go to https://www.dogtownrescue.org/online-adoption-application to complete an online application. An approved application and appointment are required to meet any of our dogs. Story
Ready to add a furry family member to start off 2025?! Look no further than this adorable and friendly fellow. Junior is around 2 years old and just under 40lbs. He is a low rider and our best guess is that he is a beagle mix of sorts.     Junior is a friendly, funny and confident fella. He loves people and other dogs. He is ready to join you on walks and adventures. He walks nicely on a leash but gets a little excited when he sees a dog. He wants to meet & play with them but is learning quickly to focus on his human instead because then treats are involved. He would love a dog friend to run and play.    Junior is a smart guy who is eager to please! He learned “sit” quickly and is very responsive to training and positive reinforcement. He LOVES time outdoors so a fully fenced in yard is a must for this boy’s forever home.    Junior would be a good match for a variety of families. If you are interested in Junior  please email us at almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com!  (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Story
Meet a very adorable and extremely snuggly 6 year old Chi mix. Marley is around 25 lbs and is a neutered male. He wants nothing more than someone to love, follow around the house and be a couch potato with.   Marley was an owner surrender due to no fault of his own. He  LOVES people and affection so we know this must be  a lot of change for him but he is handling it in stride! He is currently in a foster home with 6 (yes 6 and all bigger) other dogs and has been fine with them. He would likely enjoy a slightly more low key house but has been a great sport. He would love a home with someone there a lot of the time since quality time with  pets from his humans is his love language.    Marley seems to be a homebody and likes to do a lap  to casually sniff in the yard and then hang out on the couch with people for the day. He will go on a walk fine but will be a little jumpy with loud noises. He has been in his foster home for a short time but seems potty trained and has been a very easy house guest.    If you are interested in Marley please send us an email to get an application at   almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) Reason for rehoming: Our living circumstances have changed dramatically and we believe that our dogs would be happier in a different environment than what they have now. Ideally, we would love to see our dogs adopted into a home that has a nice backyard to run and sniff around in. Where did you originally get the dog from? Dorchester Paws Animal Shelter Breed: Hound mix. Best guess: Beagle+tree-walker/coon hound Age: 9/10 (Best guess based on teeth) Behavioral  issues? Knows and follows many commands, but can be stubborn about doing them immediately. Medical issues? No Good traits? Great at walking off leash and staying close. Never barks unless told the “speak” command with a treat or when playing with another dog as a “you went too far” warning. Any training? Just the basics. Sit, stay, down, bed, spin, release, speak, come, out, eat, leave it. Never allowed on furniture or to jump up on visitors.
