Story
Anna needed a little extra time to adapt to the shelter and get to know staff better. She was a little hesitant to let her guard down but once she did she became the sweetest girl! When first meeting Anna she may need a little time to get to know you better too but we promise she is worth knowing! Anna is a velcro dog once she`s comfortable with you and will look for you anytime she is feeling a little nervous. Anna’s previous owner did not mention how she does with other animals. She did arrive to the shelter with her sister, and they get along great. She has not been reactive towards other dogs in the shelter but her recent adopter stated that Anna was reactive towards a neighbor dog that was behind her fence. This behavior may have been seen due to Anna feeling insecure in a new, unfamiliar environment. Unfortunately, we don`t really get to know how Anna was feeling but this is why continuing socializing is so important and giving her time to adapt to her new home. We can always provide a dog meet and greet prior to adopting if needed. Anna should not be adopted into a home with small animals because she has injured a pet rabbit and will most likely continue to chase the small critters. It was noted that Anna did do well with children but can be a mouthy player at times. Please keep this in mind when considering adopting Anna. Anna is potty trained and will scratch at the door when she needs to go potty. She is also crate trained and was typically crated when left alone to help keep her on her best behavior! Anna also walks well on and leash and knows the cues “sit, “lay down ` and `shake `. Anna loves to play and will be happiest in a home that can provide regular exercise. Her favorite toys are stuffies, stuffed kongs and snuffle mats! Anna is such a sweet girl who just needs time to relax and open up more. We have loved getting to know Anna better and would love for you to meet her if you feel that your home would be a good fit!
