Zeus (the third) has clearly had some training. He already knows how to sit, lay down and shake! Belgian Malinois are extremely smart and thrive in an environment with lots of continued training and mental stimulation. They are frequently trained as police K9 dogs or service dogs because they need a job to do and keep their brain busy. This breed is not suitable for someone without large dog experience or working breed/high energy experience. Zeus would do best in a large yard with secure high fencing and someone with an active lifestyle. He would be perfect for someone who runs daily or goes hiking regularly. Zeus would do best in a household with older teens who have been around high energy dogs before. We have not had Zeus around other dogs just yet, a meet and greet is required if there are already dogs in the household. No cats please, this breed has a high prey drive and would not do well.

Valentine is a very sweet, loving, girl once she trusts you. She is highly active and will love a home where someone can run with her, hike with her, or have a marathon ball throwing session. She can be overly protective of her owner, so she will need some training once adopted and she will require someone who is capable of being able to physically handle/restrain her. She would benefit from being socialized with people and other dogs. This breed is loyal and loving and highly alert. Please do your research on the breed to ensure that she goes to a forever home. Valentine is completely different out of her kennel, so please ask to see her in the yard, you will be pleasantly surprised by how lovely she is.

Say hello to Cyrege. Cy is a good boy. He walks by your side, sits, shakes hands, and loves everyone. We suspect he`ll do the rest of typical commands as well. We`re guessing he`s a high energy fellow, as most Belgian Malinois are, so he`ll need lots of exercise and activity. He`d love to be your walking (or running) partner!!!A Volunteer spent time with Cyrege and said ` Cyrege -- I love him! What an amazing boy. He seems like a secure guy. He came up to me and pressed up against his kennel so I could scratch him the first time I walked past. He sat at his open kennel door until I said `OK` and then we walked back to the play yard. He LOVES toys and fetch. He is super attentive on leash (once we got past the other kennels). We walked around the play yard on a leash and when I stopped he sat. His fetch game is as good as it gets. He leaves his toys when you tell him to. He`s going to be a wonderful friend for someone.

Boy oh boy, did we score when we said yes to rescuing Sergio from a very high kill shelter in Kern County. Turns out he was an absolute staff favorite and was being networked heavily. This boy is so happy go lucky, super sweet and playful. he is still a puppy and is inquisitive and happy about everything. Sergio loves other dogs, walks well on a leash and is a great cuddle. He would do great in an active family and would love opportunities to play with other doggie friends. He weighs 60 pounds. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required.
