STRAY HOLD UNTIL 03/17/2025 A photo with a stray hold banner is public and posted in a desire to reunite a pet with its rightful owner. Our stray hold is lifted after 14 days. The animals are not available to be met or considered for adoption until the whole stray hold time is honored. An "off stray hold" date will be posted for all animals on a stray hold and at that time can be considered for adoption. We appreciate your patience and understanding on our procedures and protocols. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. The Lovejoy Foundation, Inc. does not adopt beyond a 30 mile radius from our headquarters in Inglewood. Sometimes exceptions are made in a particular situation for an adopter further out than 30 miles which is at the discretion of the director.

Story

It breaks my heart to say this, but I need to find a new home for my sweet dog, Rocky. My dad brought Rocky home when he was just four months old after rescuing him from an abusive situation. He was being kicked and mistreated, so my dad took him in to give him a better life. Since then, we’ve cared for him and given him all the love and attention we could. Rocky is now a year and eight months old and still very much a baby at heart. He’s a Belgian Malinois, an incredibly smart and active breed that requires a lot of attention and space. He’s not aggressive toward people, just very protective of his owner. He does get along with our two other dogs, but he doesn’t do well with new dogs, especially after being attacked when he was younger. He’s leash trained, loves walks, hikes, car rides, and running all day long. However, he does have a lot of energy and needs someone who can dedicate time to his training.
