Story
See my video: https://youtu.be/KDYrzgr-ymc Meet Queenie, this beautiful girl is from our special litter of Cane Corso Malinois mix puppies! At just under 6 months old this girl weighs just over 50 pounds already. With new people, Queenie can be pretty nervous with new things, but within 15 minutes she is usually back to her wiggly self. She will never be 100% over her fear of new things, and will need a family with patience and the willingness to continue positive reinforcement training with her. While in foster we have learned that this girl blossoms in personality with other dogs, and for this reason she needs to go home with an outgoing and social adult dog. She is able to overcome her fear with another dog around her. She would benefit from a yard as well as once she starts to get comfortable she starts to do zoomies through the yard. We are unsure how she would do with cats, but does well with older kids. Queenie is crate trained and knows the commands : Bed (goes into the crate), Sit and paw. These are not your average puppies-they're going to grow into very large dogs, likely well over 100 pounds. Because of their size and temperament, they are not suited for first-time dog owners. We're looking for adopters who are experienced with extra-large guardian breeds, such as Rottweilers, Great Danes, Cane Corsos, Malionois, or Great Pyrenees, etc. If you have experience with breeds like these and understand their unique needs, you might be the perfect match for one of these dogs. When applying, please include information about your previous experience with extra-large guard breeds. These pups need patient, knowledgeable owners who can help them grow into confident and well-adjusted dogs. Ideally, their future adopters will commit to positive reinforcement training classes throughout puppyhood to make sure they grow into the best big dogs they can be. Ready to meet your potential new companion? Contact us to learn more and see if one of these special pups could be the right fit for your family. If you're ready to adopt within the next 24-48 hours and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways: Come in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30p-3:00p. For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt! **OR** Click on the pink "Adopt me" button to submit an adoption inquiry. Watch your email for a response from us! Adopting through this process will take several days and highly desirable pets are likely to no longer be available. PLEASE NOTE: Adoption inquiries are not holds or reservations. Pets are adopted by the first person we talk with who is a good match for the pet's needs. Multiple inquiries are accepted for each pet. All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
