Story
Estrella is a Shepherd x cattle dog cross weighing 45 lbs. Estrella and her litter of 5 were found near the SPCA Puerto Vallarta sanctuary. Their mum Keisha was tied up and left blind after surviving being poisoned. The puppies were in very poor condition suffering from malnourishment at such a young age. Estrella spent her early life in the SPCA PV sanctuary in Mexico. On walks she would always check that her blind mum was ok and would guide her along. Estrella is now in foster in Kelowna where she is living (and cuddling) with two other dogs. She can be timid to start with new dogs and cats, but really loves to walk with other dogs and is playful. She enjoys the beach, swimming and playing frisbee. She was the calmest of her litter. Estrella would like a home with a yard and would surely love another dog in the home. Estrella has been kind with people. She's a stunning dog with a kind heart. If you think you might be a good fit for Estrella please email pvcaadoptions@gmail.com and tell us a little bit about yourself, and we can send you an application, or you can find our online application here: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw Adoption fee $550.00CDN

Story
*currently fostered in Houston Texas, available for out of state adoptions via rescue transportation. Video meet and greet available prior to commitment* This dog is a collaborative effort betweent Moka's Mission and Houston Chow Chow Connection. Mocha is a fluffy mixed pup just eager to find her new lease in life. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas just moments before being euthanized. She is believed to be around 4 years old, and based on behaviors definitely has GSD, Chow Chow, and even possibly husky mixed in her as well. Current weight around 65, 70 lbs. Upon arrival to the group, she was very reserved, uninterested in people and was more likely to growl or snap in your direction with things she was uncomfortable with. After spending time with behaviorists it was determined that she was most likely an outside dog that did not get proper attention or exercise. She also was abused in some manner as things such as brooms, vacuums, and raising sticks/newspapers resulted in fearful behaviors. Its no wonder she was in a state of survival and distrust with humans. Thankfully after spending time getting consistent exercise, positive reinforcement discipline and affection, she has blossomed into a smiling, eager to please, extremely intelligent pup who clearly has been desperate for reaching a potential that was never offered to her prior. She loves to play with toys now,( was unfamiliar with on arrival) and can be quirky, and vocal during her playful bouts. A game of tug which result in some head pats is her favorite. She also is very smart, and when given attention and motivation is quick to learn. She already knows several basic commands including sit, shake, kennel, wait, settle, and leave it. She is extremely versatile and once she trusts you, will give you her best. If you want to go hiking or exercise, she is all about it. If you want a pup to relax in the home and enjoy a movie day, she is ready! Her previous owners clearly left her unsocialized and to her own devices. This has resulted in high energy when around other dogs and an inability to socialize currently. So we do think she'd be best as an only pup. Proper continued socialization training would be required in order for us to feel confident about her being in a home with other dogs. She clearly has a desire to want to know other dogs, but hasn't had enough time and proper playmates to engage in socialization at present. We also believe she is much more focused without competition. This also applies to cats as she does has some prey drive, as is not unexpected in such breeds. Mocha is fully vetted meaning she is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and on monthly prevention for flea, tick, and heartworm. Her adoption fee and transport is dependant on services used.
