Story
Meet Quincey, a 5-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix.Are you looking for a dog that loves attention and is amazing at playing fetch? Look no further! Quincey is a confident, energetic and very sweet boy. He loves getting scratches and cuddles so much that he will bark for more if you stop. He loves to be out in the park and seems used to a more outdoor lifestyle. Quincey would love a home with a securely fenced in yard where he can play fetch with his new owner. Quincey does pull on his leash in his excitement but he is getting better about that. He may do best in a home with no small children at this time until he gets some focused training as he tends to jump up when overly excited. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Adopt Don't Shop.

Story
Meet Leonard, a three year old German Shepherd mix. Leonard is a handsome, happy fella who came from a property with multiple other dogs that were taken due to neglect/abuse. Leonard managed to escape on his own and was found off of the property with multiple puncture wounds that have since been treated. This boy is 82 pounds of handsome and an absolute joy to work with if you love German Shepherds. He is both treat and toy motivated and will readily "sit", "shake" and "lay down". He catches toys mid air when you toss them and is just a fun boy to work with. When Leonard gets worked up he thinks his leash is a toy and will start to play "tug" with it but is easily redirected. We see this boy for what he is, beauty and brains! If you are looking for a dog that you can really have some fun with we invite you to come down and meet Leonard. Leonard was adopted but sadly returned. He needs an active home that has plenty of time to play and may do best with another active dog.If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org.
