Meet Leonard, a three year old German Shepherd mix. Leonard is a handsome, happy fella who came from a property with multiple other dogs that were taken due to neglect/abuse. Leonard managed to escape on his own and was found off of the property with multiple puncture wounds that have since been treated. This boy is 82 pounds of handsome and an absolute joy to work with if you love German Shepherds. He is both treat and toy motivated and will readily "sit", "shake" and "lay down". He catches toys mid air when you toss them and is just a fun boy to work with. When Leonard gets worked up he thinks his leash is a toy and will start to play "tug" with it but is easily redirected. We see this boy for what he is, beauty and brains! If you are looking for a dog that you can really have some fun with we invite you to come down and meet Leonard. Leonard was adopted but sadly returned. Meet Jesus, a 9-year-old male German Shepherd.Jesus was brought to the adoption center after his owner was taken into custody. Like many German Shepherds, Jesus struggles with the shelter environment. He is good with staff and loves to go for walks, and is good on a leash but gets stressed in his kennel. This stress is exhibited in the form of spinning. YHS wants to see Jesus get adopted as soon as possible but even a temporary foster home would be amazing. **UPDATE** Jesus went on a sleepover where he met a 3 year old child and did well with the child. He rode good in a car, and went on walks, and did not pull on the leash. According to the sleepover foster, he did not jump on the furniture or on people, and he loves playing ball. Shadow is 3 1/2 years old. Has brown light eyes. He’s a German/ Belgian so has to matched with someone that has a somewhat active life. He enjoys being outdoors but if you want him indoors he’s house trained. I had shadow for about a year or less then due to landlord issues he stayed at my cousins house for I’d say a year or so. Now that we moved to a new place I’ve had him since. He’s still the same sweet boy that I’ve known. He has had small dogs as friends and has gotten along with them pretty well. Not too sure about big dogs since he wasn’t around them. During walks I’d say his leash work has gotten better. We are still training him to ignore other dogs when going on walks so with that said he would need an owner that is willing to continue with his training. With cats it’s unknown he hasn't been around them. He’s good with children that are 3 years and above. He loves to explore so he needs a fence that is about 7 feet. Overall he’s protective to his family and loyal.

He is a wonderful, neutered 1-year-old (ish) neutered German Shepherd Husky mix and he needs his forever home. He is VERY sweet and playful. I took him in about three months ago hoping I could keep him forever, but my other male dog will not accept him. Roscoe is great with my older female dog and with my son's young female dog. He loves to play with other dogs and with toys. He is great with older kids, I do not have younger kids so I can't speak about that. I'm told that Roscoe was found on the streets in Yakima. I don't know much history on him. I got him from an elderly lady here in Ellensburg who couldn't keep him in her small home. Roscoe knows commands, is house trained, leash trained and also can run on a tether. He is up to date on his shots. He truly is the sweetest dog. He likes people, likes other dogs and wants to be part of the pack. He is an inside/outside dog at my house in the country. He obeys well and is respectful. He enters calm surrender easily. He needs a fenced yard with a 6' fence or a hot wire. He does great on a training collar as well. He has no special needs and eats a regular diet. Roscoe is a wonderful, sweet dog with a lot of energy and needs someone who will give him love, attention and exercise. He loves to cuddle. He is VERY playful. He loves doggie toys and treats and wants to play with you and toys and other dogs and go on walks or runs or hikes. He loves going on car rides. She is spayed, vaccinated, and chipped. She has been a part of our family since she was 6 weeks old. Stormy loves to play fetch, chase the kids around, and do tricks for treats. She is sweet, loving, and gets her feelings hurt easily. She's gentle when taking food from your hands and loves to cuddle at the end of the day. Unfortunately, I have made the difficult decision of re-homing Storm because she has a terribly high prey drive. She cannot help but go after and sometimes kill our livestock, including chickens and peacocks.
