Story
Janey is absolutely stunning and is going to be a wonderful companion for an adopter willing to put in the time, patience and understanding. Janey sat in the shelter shaking from fear - a frozen potato - until we came in and scooped her up. Janey has spent the last three weeks settling into her foster home and is slowly showing us how beautiful her heart is. Janey is still learning to trust humans and while we have no doubt she will be steadfast once she does, she will need to be given time at first. Janey is crate trained and potty trained. While she has not yet begun working on commands, she does know what is expected of her, understands the routine and knows her name. Janey is still getting used to living indoors and human affection. She does still startle easily but makes nice headway each day. Each day Janey creeps closer and closer on the bed, now choosing to lay on her person but still wants to be the one to decide when she lays near and when she gets affection.  She loves other dogs and looks to them for confidence - walking nicely on a leash with another dog (but not as confident when walking alone). She has been an exemplary house guest indoors. Janey’s foster is willing to provide advice after adoption as needed to her adopter. At this point in time, we are looking for the following type of environment/adopter: Older, respectful children Fenced in yard Patient and understanding, experienced adopter Another dog in the home is a must at this point - should be confident, friendly (Janey tends to prefer other females but gets along well with all dogs) Quiet neighborhood (not made for city living) Janey is heartworm positive and has begun treatment. Heartworm is curable. Story
Meet Layla, the reigning queen of relaxation! This sweet 60 pound, Aussie/Great Pry mix pretty girl loves to take it easy, whether it's lounging on the couch, basking in the sun, or snoozing her day away in her favorite spot.  At 6 years of age, Layla has made is known that she prefers a calm, peaceful environment where she can indulge in her love of napping without too much excitement.  She’ll happily keep you company during your quiet moments, and will always be up for a long walk or playtime with feline friends who are her favorite four-legged friends. Layla would do best in a home without young children or other dogs, as she loves her space and enjoys a slower, more serene pace of life. If you're seeking a loyal, affectionate companion who values comfort above all else, Layla is your perfect match.   This beauty is housebroken and loves to run around the yard with her people.  Years ago Layla decided that she wanted to be the only dog in her home and that is how she has lived and what we are seeking for her again.  She has been living as the only companion in the home until 3 years ago when the family started having children.  Now the young toddlers are having their normal growing up noises and activities create a less than calm environment for Layla.  Her family knows it will be best for Layla to find a new and quieter home without the toddler chaos.  Critter Cavalry Rescue knows that many dogs do not transition well with toddlers that enter the home after they were the only dogs early in life.  Layla is so loved and because of that her owners are admitting that she needs a new start that suits her laidback demeanor. Children over 10 years will be fine. This dog is good on leash walks but doesn’t need to be at dog parks where other dogs will not respect her “space”.  She is crate trained but honestly she does no damage if left loose during the day for many hours.  Layla does love cats and is a very loving girl that is beautiful and very smart.  She has so many years left to bring joy and companionship to someone that just wants her as the only dog and will treasure her as the special girl that she truly is. If you are interested in this girl please write to ccrtennessee@gmail.com She is ready for a new and fresh start.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 10, 2025, 10:20 pm

Story
This charismatic and beautiful young 1 year-old, 72 lbs Great Pyrenees girl is called Myra. Found in the Nashville Tennessee area as a stray this girl is now in New England area in a foster home.   We are looking for a mature and settled home that is quiet and will be a leader for Myra and help her to know that she must follow the rules of the household. This girl has a warm and uplifting smile and a huge desire to be petted and given attention. She is wonderful with other dogs and loves to play in a fenced yard.  She is housebroken and comfortable in a home.  We have key suggestions as to how to set boundaries for such a big girl when getting acclimated to a new environment and family.
