Carrie is an energetic and shy 2 year old girl who is looking for a new home and a fresh start. She arrived at WARL as a stray, and she is looking for a home without kids. Carrie will require regular grooming to keep her coat from getting matted. Carrie is great with the staff who care for her but does best with a slow introduction to new people. She is hoping for adopters who can treat her gently as well as and provide her the exercise and play she needs. Must live close in to RI This supports all rescue dogs for vetting, foods and whatever they need. We are all volunteers. Carmen is a 2 year old, 18 lb. fully vetted Shihtzu/Bichon, called a Shichon, She was living in Arkansas and we recently placed one of her babies. Dotty, who is a real sweetie. Now it is the momma's turn to get her forever home. Carmen is independent, loves to play with toys, relax in her dog bed and enjoys your company. She follows you around and gets so excited to greet you when you come home. She plays nicely with the other dogs at the foster home. Carmen came from a breeder so she is still learning about the world around her and she is very observant and learning what to to do. She would do best with a companion or someone who will help her along. OUR PROCEDURE: We will choose the dog's possible family as soon as we see a match. We will phone you and further discuss . The dog will be in Rhode Island for a meet and greet. Please realize, it is our goal to get the dogs into the right homes as soon as possible and no shows are not good for the dogs and other serious dog families. If you can provide a FABULOUS home please file our free application (see link above) and tell us why we should let you adopt our wonderful rescue. The more you tell us the better picture we have of the home you can provide for our rescue Once we have reviewed your application and think it is a match we will notify you. Please understand that as these dogs are fostered we do get to know them and have a good idea of their forever home. We do save applications, but you may put multiple names on one application. If you have already applied in the past, then please send us a message with your name and what dog you are now interested in being considered for and we will pull off the server. We do not choose by a first come first serve basis. So if the dog is still up on the site, consider the dog AVAILABLE. We do take down quickly when adopted. Lukas is a 11 1/2 years old, he is been a very good dog all his life. He never bites no one, but the only thing is that how he is old he doesn’t like to be bothered by another dog. He used to have more space but we just moved and being so sad not to have enough space for him. He enjoys attention but he also loves to be alone.
