Story
** Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea ** • Rescue Story : Meet Komi👋 Komi was found wandering the streets of Paju, South Korea, in April 2024 when she was about four years old and sent to a high-kill shelter. Thankfully, she was rescued just in time and transferred to a private shelter. Since August 2024, she has been thriving in foster care. With plenty of love and socialization from her foster family and their resident dog, Komi is now ready to find her forever home! • Personality: Active, Friendly, Gentle Komi is a sweet and gentle pup who adores people and loves to play with her humans! At home, she’s calm, happily lounging by your side. But once she’s outside, her playful spirit shines! She is looking for an active family that can offer her ample outdoor activities and adventures as she is highly energetic outside. Also, she’s a quick learner and adapts well to new environments. • Affinity with -Cats: Very curious about cats and tends to chase, but she listens to her handler's guidance. -Dogs: Gets along well with the resident dog in her foster home! She can be a bit too excited when meeting new dogs outside, so introductions should be handled with care. -Adults/Kids: Loves all people! She's friendly but doesn't show much interest in kids. • Shedding: 1-2 (1-10 scale) • Food Allergies: None! • Walking Manners: Komi always gets super excited to go outside, especially when she spots other dogs - careful introduction is required. She tends to pull on the leash but settles down a little after going potty. She would be happiest with a family that enjoys outdoor adventures and running! • Housetrained: Fully potty-trained! She uses pee pads indoors but prefers to do her business outside during walks. • Bath/Brushing: Tolerates baths and enjoys a good brushing session! • Car Rides: No problem! • Separation Anxiety: None! She's perfectly fine being left alone. Just be sure to keep food out of reach before heading out! • Bark or Howl: Occasionally barks at outside noises and when her foster mom comes home. • Likes & Dislikes: Komi loves running and treats! She’s also a big fan of playing with plush toys! • Health: Komi is in great health! Please note: if her fur is trimmed short, you may notice marks around her mouth, likely from being tied up in the past. These marks are completely hidden when her fur is grown out and do not affect her health or happiness.

Story
Meet Benny - a charming 10-year-old, 14-pound Maltese/Bichon mix from Mexico. Benny has settled into life with his foster family on the Upper East Side, living the good life in a "deluxe apartment in the sky!" He’s an adventurous spirit, who enjoys daily walks to his favorite coffee shop, exploring Central Park (especially the Alice in Wonderland statue), and, of course, keeping an eye on the fridge—he’s a master at appearing the moment it opens! Benny is a sweet and intelligent pup, currently learning the “sit” command and making progress with other obedience training. Benny is mostly house-trained with minimal accidents, and wears a diaper overnight without issue. During the day, he follows a consistent routine of going outside 3-4 times, and he’s adjusting well. Though he’s still working on his leash skills, Benny is a pro at walking around the city, even taking the crosstown bus like a little gentleman. He knows how to wait for the light and crosswalk and enjoys meeting new sights and smells along the way. His forever family will need to continue his training, especially in social situations, and give him plenty of belly rubs and love. While Benny experiences a bit of separation anxiety, he settles pretty quickly and he’ll happily greet you with boundless excitement and tail wags when you return. He loves being a shadow to his people, always by your side. His playful side also shines when he’s in the kitchen—he’s a little sous chef who’s very particular about food portions (more is always better)! When Benny’s not hanging out in the kitchen, you can find him curled up with his favorite Peeps toy, watching Real Housewives episodes, or enjoying his quiet time in the bathtub (he’ll randomly hop out and surprise you!). He’s a big fan of cozy cuddles and would love to find a calm, loving home where he can feel safe and secure. Benny would do well in a home with or without children and has proven to be great around kids, even those running around at the park. While Benny could adjust to having another dog in the home, he’s perfectly content as the only pet, as long as he has your attention. If you’re looking for a witty, loving, and loyal companion who’ll bring joy and adventure to your life, Benny is the perfect match! Benny's adopter should know that he will need to consistently be fed a kidney/renal support diet. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and Lepto. Neutered and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.  To apply to foster/foster to adopt Benny Blanco, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. Story
Ziggy joined our family about 1 year ago at 12 weeks old and has been with us since. Shortly after we brought him home we found out our infant was very allergic to Ziggys saliva. Luckily he was old enough to be given medicine. We are now expecting another child who we expect will likewise be allergic, but unable to take medicine. This is the primary reason we are putting Ziggy up for adoption. Ziggy is a very sweet boy that loves love and is small enough to be a lap dog if you want that. He is fully house broken and crate trained, sleeping in his crate every night and even goes in mid day for a nap. Ziggy was raised in our home along side an infant turned toddler, an older aged child, 3 cats and another small dog. He behaves well with everyone, but still has a little puppy energy, he is about 16 months old and weighs 22 lbs. He would do well in any home, although he has not lived with dogs bigger than him so that is an unknown.
