Meet Violet, she’s a beautiful gal with the most soulful eyes. Violet is a loving, outgoing sweet girl with a gentle nature. She will lean into you for extra cuddles, loves to lay on the bed (like a frog) and curl up next to you to get extra loving.. she is super sweet to everyone she meets. Violet loves car rides, especially when going to Tractor Supply or the pet store where she gets to meet new people and get extra belly rubs. Violet is not an active girl she prefers to go for short walks, relax and enjoy life. Her favorite is being next to her humans on the couch snuggled up. Violet does prefer to be the only dog and have her people all to herself. Violet will bring nothing but joy and love with lots of snuggles into your life. Story
Polly is the happiest girl and is sure to steal your heart with one sparkling smile! Polly was left as a wee little puppy in some bushes during a stormy week in rural Mississippi. Animal control found her. And she was brought to a shelter. Polly was supposed to be euthanized but we had promised her we would be back for her… that’s the day Polly’s life truly began again. She has been an absolute joy since that day. be back.. so finally the day came. I pulled Polly. Who is Polly now, you make ask? She’s spectacular, Polly is super sweet. With everyone she meets, she is always happy and has so much love to give. She LOVES to run and play. Polly loves having friends and does great with other dogs. She is energetic and would do great with an active family she can be a part of. Polly LOVES getting her back rubbed and will Lean into you for extra scratches. Polly is wonderful with children and would love to grow up with them. Polly may have had a sad start to her life however her outgoing, happy go lucky loving personality will surely steal your heart. Polly is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Please fill out an application at www.northboundrescue.com

Story
To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application    HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see    HERE   Age: 7 months (as of 8/11/24) Weight: 35 pounds (as of 8/6/24) Location: RI Dasha is available for adoption to Massachusetts residents, as well as those in the other New England states.   This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.   Introducing Dasha, the lovable pup born in the beginning of this year.  Originally acquired at a free puppy giveaway in a Walmart parking lot, Dasha faced an uncertain future when her first owner was faced with housing restrictions. However, a compassionate neighbor, who happened to be a rescue worker, persuaded the owner to surrender Dasha to a rescue organization instead. Dasha is a sweet and affectionate girl who loves spending time with her people.  She is slowly gaining life experiences and has unfortunately been bounced around without a stable routine over the past few months. She is now in a stable foster home and thriving.   She would thrive in a home who could give her a predictable routine and slowly help her build her confidence.  She likes meeting other dogs, both big and small.  She lived with a cat in her Southern foster home, but we have not seen her with cats since being in Rhode Island. She would love a fenced yard where she can play and run. While she may require some patience and training, the rewards of welcoming Dasha into your home are boundless. She is working on housetraining but is very close!  She sleeps in her crate at night and is working on crate training when her foster leaves.  We strongly encourage basic obedience training for all our puppies, as it not only helps your puppy blossom into a well-balanced canine citizen with good manners, but it also helps to form a lasting bond between your puppy and the humans in your family. The more time and energy you invest in your puppy now, the more likely you will have a great family companion who is welcomed at family gatherings and in public for many years to come. Adopters should plan to spend plenty of time playing with your new puppy, training her in basic commands, tricks, and skills like leash-crate-, and house training, socializing them with new situations and dogs, and giving them plenty of free play and working play (like group walks). Dasha is an active and happy girl who just wants a loving forever home. Can you make her dream come true? Fill out an application today and let her know that you'd love to have her join your family! Medical Note:  This dog is being treated/has been treated for demodectic mange, a non-contagious skin condition. The dog has responded well to this treatment and is ready for adoption, though may still have some bald patches and/or thin fur in places.  Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months after adoption for adults or until 18 months of age for puppies.  Please see here for more information on demodectic mange and talk with your Adoption Counselor about this condition.  Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history.   An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see  HERE  for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor. August 18, 2024, 9:25 pm
