Story
What do you call a small little pup with exceptionally long legs? Shorty, of course! Meet Shorty, the not-so-vertically challenged cutie pie who is ready to strut his way right into your heart. Shorty is a 3-year-old Bluetick Coonhound mix who weighs 34 pounds, although it's he working on gaining quite a few lbs. He was rescued from the kill shelter in Swainsboro, Georgia, and despite a rough past and working to overcome a lot of hardship, he has not let it dampen his character. Shorty will be ready to join his new family on January 17, and he’s counting down the days until then!
Shorty is a very gentle and loving guy who is happy to give and receive all the attention he can! He is calm and relaxed, appreciating the joys of a slow walk around the park and a warm nap in a sunny patch of grass. Shorty is working on his leash skills, and once he gets moving, he’s great at keeping up (those long legs help a lot). Shorty would love frequent walks to explore the world around him and take in the goodness of all the world has to show him.
Shorty would be an ideal companion for any family, whether one person or a house full. He would get along well with other dogs and kids, but he’s best suited for a home without cats. Shorty hopes you’ll walk tall right into the rescue and come meet him soon—he may just be the new best friend for you!
Shorty is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.
