Story
DIAMOND IN THE RUFF: Honcho was returned to ARF in November 2024 after being adopted as a puppy back in 2019. He’s a sweet, affectionate dog who is having a hard time readjusting to shelter life. To alleviate some of his anxiety, Honcho spent two weeks living with one of our volunteer fosters who said he is “an AWESOME dog!” He is well trained, knows his commands, walks well on a leash, and is housebroken. She went on to report that he also loves dogs, likes cats and children too. And “his love language is kisses and laying his head on your lap or your head.” We couldn’t ask for a more stellar report! Honcho is one of our Diamonds in the Ruff who will thrive with the right person. Due to his anxiety, he takes daily medication but give him a chance and you won’t regret it. HONCHOS NEEDS: Cat selective *Quiet home * Needs mental and physical enrichment * Daily Anxiety Medication* More from the Foster: Honcho is very well trained and knows all his commands. He walks great on a leash but is also great off the leash at the beach. He stayed by my side and jumped in the truck when called. My two-year-old nephew walked him on a leash and he was very gentle. Honcho loves kids. So gentle and snuggled my nephew, resting his head on his lap in the car and allowing my 6-year-old niece and her friends to snuggle him. Honcho loves other dogs. He was great with the dogs at the park, he got along very well with my dog and he snuggled with my neighbors dog. Honcho likes cats. He came with me for dinner at my sisters who has an ARF cat and was very good with him. He wanted to interact more but the cat rules the house. No aggression at all. Honcho sleeps through the night, he is house broken. He greets strangers with a single bark but was fine with anyone who came over. He is very smart and very affectionate. His love language is kisses and laying his head on your lap or your head. He waits patiently for his food to be prepared. He is an AWESOME dog and if anyone adopts him, they would see within hours that he is a fantastic companion. He also rides well in the car and likes to go to bars. The perfect dog.

Story
There are 6 puppies left, they are...Edith, Emery, Eli, Eleanor, Emilia & Ellie. 4 puppies & Mama Em are spoken for. Mama Emberlee was abandoned & left behind by her family to fend for herself. Kids would throw things at her while she was pregnant, thankfully a compassionate woman took her injust a week before she gave birth to 11 puppies (Emma Grace unfortunately did not make it). If you are interested in a puppy please let us know.we are only charging $350 instead of $450 since they will have to be spayed/neutered.
