Story
Leo is a 14-year-old male dog, weighing in at about 9 pounds. Despite his small size, Leo has a "grumpy old man" demeanor when it comes to interactions with other dogs, preferring the company of humans instead. He is friendly and affectionate with people, enjoying their attention and companionship. Given his senior status and preference for human company, Leo would do best in a home without other pets, where he can relax and enjoy his golden years in peace and comfort. His personality and needs make him a charming companion for someone who appreciates the temperament of an older dog. ##2211337##

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, January 11th from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.     Adoption Fee: $600   Jolly is a 4 year old Papillon mix ready to deck the holiday halls and spread cheer with his forever family! Jolly was rescued from the shelter where he was surrendered by his former home. Judging by the fact our handsome chunker could stand to lose at least 5-7 pounds (he currently weighs 20), we suspect he was used to getting table scraps which isn’t the healthiest diet for an adorable pupper. We promised to help him slim down and away we went on his next adventure! Jolly is ready to make your seasons bright starting… NOW!      Jolly is a super sweet and affectionate little gentleman who is full of happy joy. He loves his people and is happy to be wherever you are. He’s an amazing WFH companion as he loves to lounge on the bed in front of a fire while you make the money to buy him all the snacks he deserves. Once you finish your calls, he’s ready for a romp around the neighborhood followed by some snuggles and pets on the couch. Jolly is super smart and already knows lots of tricks! He already knows how to sit, roll over, and fetch a toy! What a smart gentleman our dude is! Jolly has a gorgeous coat that gleams in the sunlight and catches the eye of everyone he trots by. He’s a perfect companion if you’re looking to make more friends in your neighborhood! Jolly would thrive in a home looking for a playful and energetic buddy. Everyone who meets him comments on how sweet and cuddly he is. He’s just the best boy and we know he will make his forever family the luckiest people in the world!  Jolly usually starts his day around 8 AM with a trip to the backyard. He comes inside for breakfast and then alternates between lounging on the rug and sniffing in the yard until he heads out on his morning walk. He adores his strolls and happily sniffs his way around the neighborhood. Once he’s home, he’s happy to amuse himself for the majority of the afternoon until he heads out on his evening walk. He has dinner around 6 PM and then spends his evening getting cuddles. He snoozes the night away in bed with the resident dog.  Jolly currently lives with a medium sized terrier who he would love to play with. He would love a playful canine companion in his forever home. He does well when he meets new people and makes new friends quickly. Jolly walks well on the leash and is house trained. His forever home should be ready to continue his weight loss journey. Ready to deck the halls with boughs of holly? Do it with Jolly!     Jolly is an option for just about any home, regardless of prior experience. Kids should be over the age of 7.January 9, 2025, 3:02 am

If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $850   Christmas is a 14 week old Papillon mix who’s ready to keep the holiday spirit going into the New Year! Christmas arrived at our rescue on Christmas Eve with his pal, Eve! He was surrendered to the shelter weighing only 3 pounds. The shelter is no place for a little guy, so we scooped him up just in time to celebrate the holidays in style! We expect Christmas will end up in the 8-10 pound range when he is fully grown, so he will always be a little pipsqueak. Come keep the paw-ty going with Christmas!     Christmas is an adorable, happy little puppy who takes in the world with all the wonder and amazement only a puppy could have! He adores his toys and carries them around with him wherever he goes. He has tons of puppy energy which makes him a fabulous active family member. However, he also loves his snuggle time and is happy to lay on your lap as you scratch behind his ears and shower him in love. Christmas, though he is little, is also fearless! He learned how to scamper up the stairs quickly and now he does them like a pro! Like any puppy he is go go go until he tires himself out and then he’s ready for a well-deserved snooze! Christmas is so full of curiosity that he makes every day more exciting. It’s hard not to smile when you see him zooming across the room as he chases a toy before he curls up in your lap for a snooze. We know this handsome boy will be the talk of the town when he hits the streets, so prepare your social calendar now! You’ll be hosting Christmas in July in no time!  Christmas wakes up around 6 AM and hangs out in his pen until his humans wake up. He goes outside to do his business before zooming back inside for snuggles and breakfast. Once he eats, he wanders around the house as he explores with his toys. He also gets tons of cuddles as he gives out puppy kisses. Christmas has lunch at 12 PM and dinner at 6 PM. In the evening, Christmas hangs out with his foster humans as he watches movies and plays with his toys. He goes out for one more potty at 10 PM before he is placed into his pen for the night.  Christmas has lived with other dogs and would be a fabulous addition to a home with a playful pup. He loves meeting new people especially when they give him cuddles! Interested homes should be prepared to discuss plans for continued training and socialization. If you’re ready for a winter dose of adorableness, adopt Christmas!     Christmas is only an option for homes who have owned a dog of their own in the last 5 years. Kids should be over the age of 7.January 9, 2025, 2:39 am

If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.     ADOPTION FEE: $800   Queenie is a 4 year old Miniature Poodle looking for her throne! Queenie was rescued off the streets of South Korea by our amazing rescue partner before she was flown to sunny California to start her fabulous new life! We promised to find her the best forever castle as she deserves all the finest things in life! Queenie weighs 10 pounds and has a gorgeous non-shedding coat that will require grooming. She is an option for homes with allergies. If you’re ready to swear an oath of adoration, Queenie will make you her most loyal knight!      Queenie is a sweet, smart, and perceptive little lady who can’t wait to meet her new subjects! As she has come out of her shell more and more, we have seen her personality emerge. She has discovered a love of soft blankets and heating pads as well as fashionable sweaters. She loves cuddles and is always happy to snooze in a warm lap as her humans work from home. She likes to keep an eye on her humans as they go about their days but she doesn’t need to be on top of you 24/7. Queenie needs a confident home. She needs an experienced home. She needs a home that understands dogs need time to settle in. In a confident home, she settles in more quickly. As are most dogs, in an anxious setting with anxious people, it will take longer for her to settle in. This has not been an issue in her current foster home. Within a day, she was part of the family. In a home that was anxious, she didn't settle in with them. Rest assured, once she chooses you as her people, she will be yours for life! Queenie is the ideal dog for someone looking for a small, sweet companion to snuggle cold winter nights away with. Queenie’s dream home is a family ready to give her the time and love she needs to thrive. She will show you so much affection once you show her the fabulous life you have in store for her. She is a true testament to the strength and trust dogs have in their heart, as she let us start to show her what her next chapter had in store. Queenie has even started showing off her zoomies and it has been a true joy to see her embrace her new life as a furry friend!  Queenie wakes up between 5:30 and 6 AM depending on her foster people’s schedule. She heads outside to go potty and then curls up on her heating pad as she waits for breakfast. After she finishes eating, she goes out again and then heads out on a short morning walk around the block. Queenie spends the rest of her morning relaxing in her pen or on a lap. She eats lunch at noon before heading out for another potty trip. The afternoon brings more relaxation followed by a short stroll and yard time. She has dinner at 5 PM and then enjoys her after-dinner cuddles until she heads off to bed. Queenie currently lives with two dogs and they coexist well. She doesn’t really “get” playing quite yet but we think she will with time! She prefers adults to kids as they are calmer and quieter. She’s still learning how to walk on a leash but is making progress. She is about 90% potty trained. She’s ready to meet you and show you her big heart! Crown Queenie today!     Queenie is only an option for homes with prior experience. Adults or older teens only, no kids for Queenie please! January 9, 2025, 3:24 am
