Story
The Story of Socks and Star: These cats had a very rough start in life. They were feral cats that lived under the deck of our house. Star the all-black cat is the mother of Socks, the tuxedo cat. Star was a very determined cat. She was always looking for food for her babies even in the pouring rain soaking wet. Then as winter came survival was getting harder. Even though we set out food she was still losing the battle, her tail got froze off and her babies froze to death except for one, Socks. He was still nursing and survived. That was enough, so we decided to take a chance and let the feral cats in the house. Hard to know what feral cats will do. Star was the easiest to win over. She is the sweetest little cat and loves to be pet. She is also a lap kitty. Socks is just the opposite, shy, scared, and does not like to be picked up or held but she loves to be brushed. She needs to get to know you at her pace. These cats have never been separated. The owner has Leukemia.

Story
Zuki was adopted from a farm as a kitten. She thrives in a home where she is the only pet and can keep to herself. Since adopting our second cat, she has shown more signs of anxiety and irritability. These issues have persisted and gotten worse with the birth of our children. Her real, sweet, cuddly personality comes out on occasions where she has the house to herself. When our other cat had an overnight stay at the vet and after our kids were in bed, it was like she was finally content, and wanted all the pets and attention that she hid from and lashed out at before. This proves to us that we are not an appropriate home for her, and want to see her thrive with a quiet home where she can have the peace and privacy she needs.
