Story
Hi I'm Bunny! I’m sweet as sugar and have a gentle disposition. I have a bit of a limp from an old injury, but that doesn’t slow me down, I just love going for walks and being with people! On top of all that, I have a strikingly beautiful white speckle in my dark coat - that makes me a real eye catcher!! I was lucky enough to go on a sleep-over at the home of an Ark volunteer, and got to show off what great house manners I have! I showed them that I ride great in a car, that I know how to use a dog-door and even better, I know when to use it! I'm clean and tidy in the house and just love cuddling, especially on the sofa and bed ! When I arrived at the Ark, we played the 'guess what breed I am' game, the most guesses were that I'm a Border Collie / Retriever mix, but I know that's just a guess - I know what I am, I'm a Purebred Mix-Breed!! **Ark Rescue dogs are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. We do require a secure fenced-in yard to adopt our larger dogs.

Story
We found Lucy girl in January. She was a stray from Mississippi who was either dumped or got lost. We just could not leave her out in the cold, so we brought her home. She was guessed to be about 3-4 months in January by our vet. She is a fun, energetic, loving little girl. She greets you at the door with lots of love and kisses. She gets along great with our older dogs, but does require a lot of attention to keep entertained, or just like any other puppy will chew up anything. Unfortunately we just do not have the time to devote to her to keep her active due to having a newborn at home, and Lucy deserves a loving home with someone who can spend more time with her. She knows how to sit and is potty trained. LOVES to play fetch and go on walks. It will break our hearts to rehome her, but it is what is best for Lucy!

Romeo is such a loving, cuddle bug! He just wants to be in your arms all the time! He loves to run, and he is super-fast! He travels very well in the car for long distances and is house trained. He works really well with another dog to be his buddy as he does not like to be alone. He is a male, 6 years old, 12 pounds, neutered, microchipped, up to date on his shots and ready to be adopted!

Story
Rana was dumped in someone's yard who brought her to MARF to find her a home. She a sassy little girl who bosses the big dogs around in the foster home, since she is a HERDING BREED MIX of Blue Heeler and who knows what?!She is full of love and energy to spare, stays right with the foster mom as she walks the farm checking on the horses, goats and chickens, which she has interacted with but does not bother. She is house and crate trained, knows the word NO, and comes when she is called. She loves to play outside with the other dogs in the foster home, so must have a securely fenced yard to play and potty in, along with another playful dog in the home to play with. She loves her dog toys, her chew bones and will bring you a toy.She is highly intelligent, easily trained, easy to handle (according to the foster mom) and won't get past a medium sized dog.Foster mom says she is "the perfect puppy to foster". She gets a little bossy at Petco, trying to be Alpha, so be aware, that she cannot be with another Alpha in the home and make sure you know the herding breed. They HERD! She is great with the foster's granddaughter (but they are also used to herders). She is FULLY VETTED and her adoption fee is $350 Apply at Madisonarf.org

Story
Oscar in October will be 3 years old, is very smart dog, it went through boarding school. The dog trainer is willing to work with new owner to help will adaptation and continue the Oscar education. https://k-9compliance.online/home?keyword=&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAA He needs a person that can offer attention and preferably to be the only dog, our problem is we have a baby and because of that our attention is to the baby instead of him and he is very jealous. He likes to be outside as much is possible if you have a fenced backyard is even better, like to fetch, catch Fresbee and chase or be chasen. He had surgery on front legs when he was a poppy 6-8 month old, after an injury, since then no issue at all, is running and jumping like any other dog. We had him updated with all the vaccines and have all the info from the vet we went. If you can offer him attention and play with him he will be the best dog. And honestly if we did not had a baby we never thought about this route.
