Story
Introducing Whimsy, the lovable foster dog with a personality as vibrant as her name! This silly girl brings joy and laughter wherever she goes, even if she sometimes needs a little extra reassurance. With a heart full of love, Whimsy can be a bit timid at first, but don't let that fool you—she's just waiting for the right moment to shine. The secret to her heart? Treats! Once you offer her a tasty snack, you'll gain a loyal friend for life. With patience and kindness, you’ll discover the playful spirit hidden within this sweet girl. Whimsy is ready to find her forever home where she can thrive and share her love.  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   August 18, 2024, 11:11 pm

Story
Space is a 9 month old medium size dog. She loves other dogs and has done well with cats. Space needs a special adopter that will give her time to realize people aren’t so scary. She has made a TON of progress at her foster home but is still very timid at times. She gets SO excited to see you after work but still only wants to be pet on her own terms. She will do best in a home with no children, another dog to help build her confidence, and her own yard, as she is not leash trained. She is very fearful of the leash, leading us to believe she may have had a traumatic experience involving a leash before coming to HART. This dog absolutely loves to be comfy. All she wants is a comfortable bed or to curl up by your feet on the couch. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog that does not beg for constant attention or a friend to keep your dog busy while you’re at work, Space could be a great choice for you. If interested in meeting Space please fill out an application at www.rescueahart.org!

Story
Hi, Name is Chip! I'm the type of dog that is gonna take time to get to know. I'm mostly scared and confused in being here. I'm not happy in my kennel so I do bark at you. You have to bribe me with hotdogs to get me to trust you. Once I get out on leash I'm fine but it still takes time for me to adjust. We don't know much about chip but to greet with other dogs is a must and to be tested around cats. I would say no to kids. Any additional information about me please ask the people in the office. To adopt one of our animals, please visit our shelter, open Tuesday-Friday from Noon-6pm and Saturday from Noon-4pm. Story
Hiya! My name is Brawny. I am a very sweet guy and shy of taking pictures. I did do my best. I don't play with toys much and I am very easy going on leash. I love meeting new people. I would love to go on a casual walk here and there that would help my weight some. I do fine with other dogs and with kids. I don't know about cats at this time. I really want a loving and caring home.To adopt one of our animals, please visit our shelter, open Tuesday-Friday from Noon-6pm and Saturday from Noon-4pm.
