Story
**Meet Elena!** Elena is a one-year-old, 33-pound mixed breed, possibly with some Border Collie in her. She came to rescue with a tough case of kennel cough, but with care and recovery, her vibrant personality has blossomed! Elena is a playful and fun-loving pup ready for her next adventure. She adores her furry friends and can often be found romping around with other dogs. She also loves greeting her humans, soaking up all the pets and attention she can get. This curious girl enjoys exploring the outdoors and knows how to unwind on the comfiest dog beds when it’s time to relax. Elena is doing well with crate training, though she occasionally lets out a bark or two. She’s also making great progress with potty training. If you’re looking for a medium-sized dog with a mix of energy and affection, Elena might just be the perfect fit for your family! Elena is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Space is a 9 month old medium size dog. She loves other dogs and has done well with cats. Space needs a special adopter that will give her time to realize people aren’t so scary. She has made a TON of progress at her foster home but is still very timid at times. She gets SO excited to see you after work but still only wants to be pet on her own terms. She will do best in a home with no children, another dog to help build her confidence, and her own yard, as she is not leash trained. She is very fearful of the leash, leading us to believe she may have had a traumatic experience involving a leash before coming to HART. This dog absolutely loves to be comfy. All she wants is a comfortable bed or to curl up by your feet on the couch. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog that does not beg for constant attention or a friend to keep your dog busy while you’re at work, Space could be a great choice for you. If interested in meeting Space please fill out an application at www.rescueahart.org!

Story
Hi, Name is Chip! I'm the type of dog that is gonna take time to get to know. I'm mostly scared and confused in being here. I'm not happy in my kennel so I do bark at you. You have to bribe me with hotdogs to get me to trust you. Once I get out on leash I'm fine but it still takes time for me to adjust. We don't know much about chip but to greet with other dogs is a must and to be tested around cats. I would say no to kids. Any additional information about me please ask the people in the office. To adopt one of our animals, please visit our shelter, open Tuesday-Friday from Noon-5pm and Saturday from Noon-4pm.
