Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: Unknown, likely yesGood with kids: Yes, dog savvy kids Crate trained: Yes House Trained: Mostly Salsa is a sweet, gentle and affectionate girl who’s looking for a loving family to call her own. She is a medium energy puppy (and the laziest border collie mix her foster family has ever met) who loves to play a game of fetch and then promptly take a nap in the sunshine. Salsa can be shy at first but within a few minutes she’ll be showering you in kisses and happily asking for pets. She loves other dogs and would make a wonderful playmate. With her calm and gentle disposition and love for affection Salsa would thrive in a home with children. Though she has not met cats Salsa would likely do fine with them. Salsa is a typical puppy who is looking for a patient and loving family to teach her basic puppy manners. She is nearly house trained and does best when taken out every few hours. Salsa loves her crate, she happily goes in for naps during the day and is crated overnight. She’s quiet in her crate, and likes to enjoy a frozen treat when her foster family goes to work. She is working on her leash training and making progress every day. Is Salsa the missing piece in your family? Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: Yes Good with kids: YesCrate trained: Yes House Trained: Mostly Queso Cinco De Mayo is a sweet, affectionate, and friendly puppy who is looking for a loving family to call her own. She is a typical medium energy puppy who plays hard and naps harder.Queso loves everyone and has never met a stranger she didn’t like. She enjoys playing with other dogs and would make the perfect candidate for doggy daycare. Queso has met children as young as three and as old as thirteen and loves them, matching their energy and meeting them with curiosity. She met her first cat recently and was more confused by it than anything – curiously observing and then removing herself from the situation, so would likely do well with a cat sibling. She does great in crowded situations as well as hanging at home, enjoying quiet time.Queso is starting to get excited about going for walks (though she likes to take a few sit breaks on the way!) and is continuing to improve on her leash skills. Queso is looking for a family who is ready to welcome a puppy and help her continue to learn her basic manners. She is fully crate trained and sleeps soundly in her crate overnight and during the day when her foster family is at work. Queso is a very smart girl and is eager to please. She is mostly housetrained, and with time, patience and routine she will soon master it.Is Queso your new best friend? Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website. Good with dogs,
Story
. . .          who is ready for an active home for a lifetime of adventuring. She traveled from LA to MA and continues to learn how to dog. She LOVES kids, other dogs, and will be ok with a dog-savvy cat. She makes friends wherever she goes and is developing her very own fan club. She will LOVE a fenced yard and an active home as she is the PERFECT adventure partner or sidekick. She is a working dog lover's dream.  Rescue story––She came in a stray to a high volume kill shelter and she is one lucky pup! We tagged her after seeing her sweet disposition and spent some time in a Louisiana foster home readying to travel north. Her southern foster mom says––"June Bug is working on the basics like sit and down. She is an older puppy and because she is learning manners, is best with older kids and will likely LOVE a resident dog that likes to play too." JUNE BUG IS PART OF OUR NEW "SHELTER DOG SUCCESS PROGRAM"! Her adoption comes with training! 50% of the adoption fee is transferred to a  dedicated trainer who zooms with you 1st (to prep you for her pick-up), followed by two additional zooms, as needed, with text support in-between!  Each zoom is an hour long and at the end of your program, your trainer will make a recommendation on best next steps for your training plan. It's important to us that our adult dogs have this second chance and this new program sets them and your household up for success too!  Preference is given to adopters willing to pre-adopt (commit to) a puppy or dog before arrival. Pups not adopted are available to meet in their MA foster homes after your application is approved. Should this pup receive an adoption commitment prior to your application being processed, we will share with you the other arriving pups that may be a match for you, some of which are not yet posted online. THIS PUP IS STILL AVAILABLE IF YOU ARE SEEING THIS LISTING––we pull listings down after receiving 2 - 3 viable applications to minimize adopter disappointment. Please do not email, simply submit an application link here www.rescueinc.dog/adopt and we do respond to every application within 48 hours.  Read through our adoption process and other adoption FAQs here www.rescueinc.dog/FAQs All of our pups come with the following:  Spayed or Neutered Age appropriate vaccinations + dewormed + 4DX test (if older than 6 months) Dosed with flea/tick + heartworm preventatives New martingale collar with 6' lead + temp ID tag 30 days free insurance to be activated within 24 hours of your wellness visit with your veterinarian Microchip with free registration Sample of food your pup has been eating  Ages listed can be approximate and breed mixes are a best guess based on physical characteristics.   Approved Massachusetts Rescue #0048 // Registered 501c3 EIN #84-3954548  ##1849431##

She often pick up a squeaky toy in her mouth and shake her head back-and-forth. I often wonder if she envisions being one of the squirrels in her mouth. She has not shown any aggression towards them just enthusiasm. She is a tad alpha towards new female dogs but she’s been very good given Tinker is constantly having to welcome a new foster dog into the pack. Tinker loves soft squeaky toys but will occasionally tear out the stuffing. Tinker loves giving and receiving affection. She gets along well with her foster siblings both canine and feline. Tinker loves being sprayed with the hose and it hysterical to see.  Energy Level: medium  Social: friendly  Bite history: no signs of aggression  Toys: loves soft squeaky toys and hard chews  Feeding routine: 1 cup of dry food (breakfast and dinner) and a few treats daily  Potential Challenges/Specific Needs: none  Behavioral issues: none Barker: minimal Suitable for apartment living: no, she is a runner and needs a fenced yard  Suitable for novice owners: yes ##2072001##
