Hello, Casey is a very loving, sweet dog. She has a need for exercise/activity to manage the breed. She loves to play fetch, hike and go on walks. As well as play with indoor toys. She is really smart and needs a strong pet owner to guide her in all areas. She understands, sit, stay, come, heel, lay down, easy etc. BUT, her excitability will at times take over her behavior. So firmness in voice is at times necessary. Casey needs continued training to ensure/maintain discipline and responsiveness to the 'pack leader' (Owner) and the commands involved in training and owning a dog. Constancy and consistency in training needs to happen or she could be a flight risk. Meaning if she sees a squirrel, chipmunk, or another dog she wants to pursue it and will tend to not hear a command. This is definitely the hound and border collie breed characteristics that an owner needs to understand. Casey will lay with you all day and take pets and belly rubs and is the most loving 5 yo pooch.

Meet Lily, Eddie, and Everett, three sweet babies who came to us from Georgia, along with their mom Emma! Down south, Emma was the neighborhood stray who everyone was fond of and would offer food and goodies to. One day they were surprised to see her welcome her three little pups, as precious and sweet as can be! However, due to concern about these guys living on their own, a neighborhood resident called the local animal shelter, who then took in these guys and kept them safe and cared for. But now these three little guys are old enough to be thriving on their own, and mama Emma is finally getting some well needed peace and quiet. Now that they`ve made their way to CAAA, they are ready to find their forever homes and meet the people who will give them all the love they`ve been waiting for! These little pups are still very young, only about 2 months old at the moment. They`re looking for someone who has the time and patience to keep up with a new pup who no doubt will be the love of their life! Lily, Eddie, and Everett are friendly, loving, and super playful little ones; basically everything you could ever want in a pup! Meet Annie Oakley! Annie was surrendered to a local veterinarian after she escaped the house and was shot twice by a neighbor for chasing their sheep. Luckily, Annie escaped without any major injuries and is well on her way to being fully recovered! She is about a year old and we believe she is a herding breed mix. This girl is sweet, energetic, dog- and kid- friendly, and ready for a new start in a home that will keep her safe!  She does have a lot of energy, so an active family will be ideal for this girl. Kovu doesn't have long before he is heading to a shelter that is inundated with dogs. This is a courtesy post for the family. Unfortunately, we just don't have room right now in our Rescue program as we are also inundated, but we wanted to get his sweet face out there to some potential doctors. Kovu is named after a character in the movie Lion King. He is approximately 60 pounds and is to believed to be a border collie and lab mix. Kovu is six years old, but you would think by his activity level that he's more like two. He's extremely athletic and agile. He does jump some, but he jumps up softly. He knows Sit and he is house trained. He gets along with the other dogs around him, so that's a good start!
