Story
Bruno is an almost 3-year-old poodle-border collie mix weighing just 45 pounds. He’s available for adoption alongside his best friend and brother, Rio. These two are inseparable and are looking for a loving family to welcome them both into their forever home.Bruno and Rio have been through a lot together. Their owner was heartbroken to surrender them due to a move overseas but had just one wish: that they stay together. They’ve always had each other’s backs, and they truly thrive as a team.Bruno is the playful one of the pair. He absolutely loves tennis balls and could play fetch all day long if given the chance! While he’d enjoy having a yard to chase his favorite toy, what he’d love most is a home filled with love and companionship. This friendly and adaptable pup is great with kids of all ages—he’s even lived with a baby before! Bruno is also dog-friendly and has been thriving in his current foster home with Rio. Because they are a bonded pair, they do everything together and will need to be adopted as a duo.If you’d like to meet Bruno and Rio, please note that they’re currently in foster care, so meet-and-greet appointments must be scheduled in advance. These two best friends are ready to bring twice the love, laughter, and joy to your home. Could you be the family they’ve been waiting for?Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Story
MEET LAYLA! Age: 1 year  Weight: 49 lbs  Breed: Border Collie   Layla is a beautiful 1-year-old Border Collie who was surrendered to the shelter when her previous owner no longer had the time to dedicate to her. This sweet and active girl is now on the lookout for a devoted family who can keep up with her energetic spirit!  Layla is full of life and loves to play. She displays the classic intelligence and eagerness to please that is characteristic of her breed. She is totally house trained and crate trained, however she could use some improvement with her leash manners. With consistent training, you can help her become the well-mannered companion she strives to be! Given Layla’s active nature, she is seeking a dynamic family that can engage her physically and mentally. As a working class breed, Border Collies thrive in environments where they can exercise and play. A fenced yard is preferred or an avid walking/running partner, as Layla is prone to exploring and would love to have the freedom to run and play safely.  Layla would do best with mature, dog-savvy children due to her young age and inherent herding tendencies. She is not recommended for a home with cats, and she has enjoyed the company of select canine friends - but tends to be more of a loaner and enjoys the companionship of her people. She may take a minute to warm up to a new face but once she does her devotion is unconditional. Layla is not suited for apartment, condo, or mobile home living, as she needs space to stretch her legs and explore. A home where she can play and grow will help her thrive. As a Border Collie, Layla will require routine brushing to maintain her beautiful coat and keep it healthy. She has it all - brains and beauty - knows commands like sit, will give paw and then give you her other paw! She truly is incredibly smart! She likes to play with toys and is very sporty, which could blossom into an exciting future with her drive and determination! If you're an active family ready to welcome a beautiful and spirited and loving pup into your life, Layla might be the perfect match for you! She is eager to learn, play, and become a cherished member of your family. Don’t miss the chance to meet this sweet girl and give her the forever home she deserves! Let’s find Layla her forever family—she's ready to bring joy and adventure into your home!  Layla is:Current on Rabies and DistemperDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedSpayedADOPTION FEE: $300 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!).
