Story
Location: Innisfail, AB// Age: Approx 10 months// Sex: Spayed female// Size: Medium/Small (25ish lbs)// Energy level: High (puppy energy)// Vaccines: Up to date// Dogs: Yes// Cats: Unknown// Kids: Not tested, likely older dog savvy kids// Meet Priscilla! This sweet and energetic 11-month-old terrier mix is on the hunt for her forever home. At around 25lbs, she’s the perfect medium-sized companion for an active family or individual. Priscilla loves to run around her backyard, and her playful, high-energy puppy spirit will keep you on your toes. She’s always up for a game of fetch or running around with her dog friends! Priscilla is crate trained and has already mastered asking to go outside when she needs to go potty, making her a great addition to your home. While she’s house trained, she’s still building confidence on her leash walks and can be a little shy around new people. But once she warms up, she’ll be your best friend, eager to give all her love and loyalty. Priscilla would thrive in an active home without young children, as she’s still working on her enthusiasm and might be a bit jumpy. She’s very smart, so a family or individual who’s willing to invest time in puppy training classes will see her true potential. With some guidance, she’ll master new skills and become the confident, well-behaved companion she’s destined to be. If you’re looking for a playful, loving, and trainable puppy who just needs a little time and patience to build her confidence, Priscilla could be your perfect match! Story
Location: Didsbury, AB// Age: Approx 2 years// Sex: Spayed female// Energy level: Medium/High// Size: Small - 24lbs// Dogs: With slow proper introductions, Lucy has the potential to have doggy playmates// Cats: Yes, Lucy was cat tested and did well// Kids: Not at this time while she settles into her new home// Meet Lucy, a sweet and affectionate 24lb terrier mix who is ready to find her perfect foster or foster-to-adopt home. This loving girl is spayed, vaccinated, and has a medium/high energy level that makes her an excellent companion for daily walks, hiking and playtime. Lucy is a pro on the leash, never pulling, making her an ideal walking partner who will happily accompany you on your daily adventures. Lucy is incredibly affectionate with her humans and loves to snuggle and play with toys. She has a special fondness for men and would thrive with a positive male role model in her life. While she’s a little anxious at first, especially in new situations and around new dogs, Lucy has the potential to blossom into a confident and loyal companion with a patient and understanding adopter. Her ideal home would be one where someone is home more often, as she doesn’t enjoy being left alone for long periods but she does well being left alone for a few hours at a time. Lucy is crate-trained and settles in nicely after a short adjustment period, and she’s been non-destructive when left in her "doggy space" (a spare room). That said, a calm and patient environment will help her adjust and feel more secure. Lucy’s perfect home would include a fenced backyard for safe play, and while she can live with a calm dog or cat after proper introductions, she would do best as the only pet in a quieter household. She’s been cat-tested and did great with them! Her new family should be experienced in dog anxiety and be committed to helping her build confidence as she adjusts to new surroundings. Once Lucy feels at home and settled, she’s an easy-going, loving dog who will offer you all the affection and loyalty you could ask for. If you’re an active person who enjoys walks and has the patience to help Lucy grow into her best self, she could be your perfect match! Lucy is ready to show her true potential in the right home – could it be yours? Complete a foster application on our webiste to talk with our team and see if you might be a match for this sweet girl! https://www.ruffstartanimalrescue.com/dog-foster-application
