Athena is a pocket pittie mix She is about 18 months old. She loves people and dogs and kids. Athena is a lovable, playful, mild mannered girl. She’s quiet and just wants to keep her humans company. Athena had a young mom who died in a tragic accident. Family friends have taken her in to foster her and we are helping her find a forever home. See Her VIDEO to see how she plays with other doggies. Athena loves to play with other dogs and she LOVES toys but she doesn’t like to share her toys- so the best way for her to play with dogs is without toys in the mix. Stubbs is 1 out of 4 dogs. He was the front of our first litter from our Boston terrier and our Chihuahua. He’s quite energetic, but is the sweetest little boy. He gets along with other dogs, and takes care of his dad Who is deaf. He wakes his dad up and goes to get him when It’s time to eat and when we are calling him. Stubbs is very smart. She is athletic and jumps so high. He likes the company of other dogs and Sleeps with her youngest daughter. He does mark certain areas in the house. Unfortunately, we are moving and we can’t keep all of our animals. We are looking for a loving home for Stubbs to spend his last few years of life at. We would prefer to keep him and his father, Roshe, together. His father is very obedient, but deaf. He knows signs and listens very well. Let us know if you’re interested.

This little cutie is Khloe! She’s a petite 32lbs and is estimated to be 6 years old. At the shelter, she was polite with other dogs and friendly with new volunteer friends. Now in a foster home, she’s showing us her personality and learning crate, leash and house training. She’s been such a delight in her foster home! Her foster has nothing but nice things to say about her including that she’s very respectful when meeting new dogs and people. Khloe can be affectionate but is not needy or demanding. Meet Lexi! She is a 4 year old Boston Terrier mix. Her mom was a purebred Boston Terrier that was rescued from a breeding farm, before heading to a dog meat farm in South Korea. We have partners we work with there that pull these dogs from the worst horrors imaginable. Many of these dogs start off in horrific puppy mill type facilities on tiny rabbit cage size wire crates in complete filth. If they are not sold at 6 or 8 weeks then they either stay for a couple years to be used to breed more and then are sold off to the meat trade, or they are sold off right away. Jindo's and Tosa's are the most common meat type dogs, and are very commonly bred specifically for their meat and the meat farms also act as breeding farms until they reach a good age and weight. South Korea is one of the only countries that actually farms dogs for their meat. Many restaurants will serve a dish called " bosintang ", which stands for "dog meat soup". It's a popular dish in South Korea, and is said to act as an aphrodisiac for men. Little dogs are used for elixirs and potions. The younger generation is mostly against this practice and many choose to not eat them, and we can only hope in time with education and generations of change that an end will come to this horrific trade. Lexi's mom and Lexi, and several of the other puppies were flown here in 2020, for a chance at a future and a real life. Lexi being the adorable puppy that she was, was adopted right away. Sadly, after 4 years in her home, her family needs to find a new home for her. She is active and needs a family that wants to do fun things with her and has the time to be active and engaging. She gets along well with other dogs and is a very sweet girl! These are miracle dogs that they are alive today.
