Story
Meet Audie! He was guessed to have been born in December 2023. He hasn't had the best start in life, but you would never know. This resilient soul was found on the side of the road in Texas- severely injured at only a few weeks old. Alone and in pain. It is suspected Audie was hit by a car and sustained multiple fractures to his pelvis and his femurs. Audie had a severe right femur fracture surgically repaired and a subsequent tibia fracture and he is getting around wonderfully! There is a possibility down the line that he may need a FHO surgery on his left side, but the orthopedic vet says it all depends on if he seems to be in discomfort - and so far you wouldn't know anything was every wrong with him. Potential adopters will need to understand and agree to take on that responsibility. We did a DNA test on him and he is 51% Boston Terrier, 43% Schnauzer, and 6% Poodle. He is estimated to be about 20 lbs full grown. He gets along with other dogs, cats, and kids, but due to his previous injuries he needs to be in a relatively quiet and calm household to prevent re-injury. He will need training from scratch, but he has a good handle on crate training. Audie's adoption donation of $495 helps to cover the cost of his medical care (well in excess of $2500). Application, reference checks, and home visit required. Adopters must live 1.5 hours driving distance from Romeoville, IL For more information on adopting, please email us at info@perfectpooches.org. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.perfectpooches.org under the Adoption Process tab. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested (age appropriate), fecal tested and/or dewormed, and microchipped.

Story
SPECIAL NEEDS: Partially blind due to Glaucoma .   This special girl is Ellie, a senior Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix, who weighs around 9-10 pounds. Ellis is around 10 years old; she is very loving and is an absolute sweetheart. Ellie lives in a foster home with a couple smaller dogs and two large dogs. Her foster mom considers Ellie to be a “low maintenance” dog. She is a homebody because she does not like going for walks or going on adventures. She enjoys the opportunity to be in the yard so she can walk around and sniff out the critters. Ellie really loves her foster mom and the young teen kids in the home so she will seek out time for some belly rubs and pets.    Because Ellie is frightened of most adult men we are seeking to place her into a female household. Ellie is comfortable living with other small to medium sized dogs but isn’t into playing with them; she prefers napping and hanging out.    While in foster care, Ellie was diagnosed with Glaucoma and lost sight in one of her eyes; she receives daily eye drops for the condition. The medication has worked well and the eye pressure has been in the normal range for over three months now. Ellie has been examined by licensed veterinarians, been provided vaccines, been dewormed, tested for diseases, spayed, and microchipped. Our online application is not functioning currently; therefore ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available upon request from acaringplace@comcast.net.   We apologize for the inconvenience. A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. All dogs and puppies live in foster homes, providing you as the adopter, with information on the animal's behaviors, needs, and requirements. We are always in search of fosters care providers. If you are one of those special people willing to open your heart and home to an animal in need and would like to receive information on how you can foster an animal, please contact us.     August 11, 2024, 12:13 am

Story
Benny is a 3.5 year old Boston Terrier mix looking for his furever home! Benny is a silly, goofy guy. He loves to go for walks, loves to snuggle, watch tv, and play with all his squeaky stuffed toys! Benny would do best in a home with no kids, or older respectful kids. No cats for Benny. May do well in a home with another dog, will just need an intro to get things going.   If you are interested in adopting Benny, please fill out an application on our website!   https://www.dogsaredeservingrescue.com/adoptable-dogs/adoption-application/August 16, 2024, 2:26 pm

Story
Rey, also known as Rachel, is a female Boston Terrier with a sweet and affectionate nature. She currently struggles with some anxiety and is a bit scared of a few things, including car rides and being outside. When frightened, she tends to freeze, drool, or even vomit. Rey is not comfortable with leashes yet and often needs to be carried when outside the home. Despite her fears, Rey comes to life when she's with other dogs, showing her playful and fun personality. She enjoys playing with stuffed animals and loves to shred them if left alone. Rey is not much of a chewer when it comes to harder toys or bones. It's important for Rey's future family to know that she feels safer in small spaces rather than having access to the entire house at first. She may get stuck in rooms if she perceives obstacles in her way and struggles to get off furniture, even with platforms or ramps available. Rey does best in a home with other dogs, as she looks to them for security and support. While she is tolerant of humans touching and grooming her, she remains nervous and standoffish. With patience and a gentle approach, Rey is slowly starting to warm up to her foster family, sometimes even greeting them when they approach her. She would thrive in a calm and understanding environment with other canine companions. For more information, email northaurora@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 80, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
