You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!My name is Taylor.  I came to the ranch when I was 7 weeks old and have been here for almost 2 years.  I have a bladder problem that cannot be surgically corrected.  I could wear diapers but I absolutely hate them!!  Here at the ranch I do not have to wear a diaper because they mop and steam floors several times a day but I drip and they don't make me feel bad about it :)I may spend my life here but if I do I will be loved and accepted even though I can't hold my bladder :) I love to give kisses and recieve pets!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!August 7, 2024, 7:26 pm

She is such a sweet dog! She gets alittle protective over her food sometimes and nail trying to cut her names. Once she trust you, she will be ok. She loves to cuddle, but she is antsy.

Story
5 years old   Very petite.  She's adorable and very loving with people.  She loves belly rubs and toys.  She's good with most other dogs, but should be supervised initially until fully acclimated.  She has a high prey drive for cats, chickens or small animals.  She is a jumper and can clear a 3 ft fence and will run if given the opportunity.  Due to her prey drive and running, she requires a home with at least a 4 ft securely fenced in yard to keep her safe.   To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. Fill the form out completely, print, scan and email back to mollysplace@verizon.net. You must obtain pre-approval prior to visiting the dog or cat. Adoptions fees include the following:    spay/neuter surgery,  microchip and registration,  age appropriate vaccinations,  initial dewormings,  Activyl for fleas,  tested for FeLV and FIV (cats only),  bubble bath prior to going home (dogs only) WE do not "HOLD" animals without an approved application and a non-refundable/non-transferable paid adoption fee.  Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis.  We can not send extra pictures.  WE do not ship, you must pick up the pet.  Kitties must be transported in a secure cat carrier.   Pooches require a "martingale" collar and a non-retractable leash. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 9:23 pm

Story
Well hello there! My name is Axel! I am a tiny 14 week old Boston Terrier puppy. I was born at a kennel and my breeder wasn't able to sell me because I had an inguinal hernia. But guess what? I OUT GREW IT! I'm good as new and ready for my forever home! I am a happy, silly, playful little guy! I love toys and I love to run around the yard. I am very bouncy and goofy when I run. Snuggling is my FAVORITE thing ever!!!! I sleep in my foster mom's bed some nights and that is THE BEST!! I curl up on her shoulder with my cheek against hers and go right to sleep. I am a velcro puppy and I love to be held and cuddled. Other nights I sleep in my crate with a stuffed animal and a fluffy blanket. I am typically quiet in my crate, but I am still getting used to it. I fuss a little when I am put away at first, but then I settle down to play with a toy or take a nap. I am just beginning potty training but I'm doing great! My foster mom takes me outside for frequent potty breaks while I am awake. I can't go more than a few hours alone in my crate. Please be prepared to help my puppy self learn to be the best adult dog I can be. I am a growing boy! Since I am too little to be neutered just yet, I will be adopted with a Neuter Contract that states I must be neutered by 6 months of age. This contract has a refundable $250 deposit that will be returned to my adoptive family when proof of neutering is sent to the rescue. I am up to date on my core vaccines, microchipped, and have been routinely treated with parasite preventatives. I am being fostered in Southern Lancaster County, and folks interested in adopting me must come to my foster home twice. One time is a meet and greet with all members of the household, resident dogs included. The second trip is to pick me up. Go online to www.zoeshouserescue.com and complete an adoption application! We do not always receive applications submitted through adoptapet or petfinder. Kennel license 9117 PO box 2372 Reading pa 19608

Story
Meet Little Miss Kiwi!!! Kiwi is a 6 month old Boston terrier that was surrendered to Zoe's House due to a leg deformity. Both of her front legs are affected by angular, limb disorder (ALD) but it doesn't slow this little girl down at all. She is the sweetest girl with just the right amount of sass. Kiwi has learned to overcome obstacles with how she gets around. As she has grown she has adapted and learned new ways to walk. She can get up an entire flight of stairs in the blink of an eye, unfortunately she can't get back down. Kiwi is being fostered with dogs of all sizes, as well as cats. She loves playing with the other dogs. She especially loves the pitbull in her foster home. She will snuggle with her and suckle on her ears, it's so cute and slimy all at the same time. Kiwi is used to be in a play yard when she needs to be left home alone and does well. She is still working on her potty training but has been doing amazing. She recently received a wheelchair and we spent the first few weeks just getting her used to it. She is now learning how to move about, she likes that lots of treats are involved. The ideal home for this sweet little girl would be mainly a single story home with an open floor plan to give her lots of room to use her wheels. Another dog friendly pup is definitely needed for her, she loves having a playmate and someone to learn from. Someone who is home more than not would also be ideal to help her learn and maneuver about. Kiwi is UTD on vaccinations and on preventatives. She is not altered and will be adopted out with a spay contract to be altered when she turns one. This does come with a 250 dollar fee that is fully refundable once proof of spay is provided. She is in a temporary wheelchair at this time. The chair is made for quad dogs. She will need a new wheelchair when she is done growing that is just for her front legs. The quad chair is adjustable and is teaching her how to walk and get used to being in wheels. Her foster family will happily answer any questions about her condition and her chair. If you think Kiwi would make the perfect addition to your family apply on our website. Kiwi is being fostered in Berks county and all potential adopters will need to be willing to come to this area to meet her along with any current residential dogs. www.zoeshouserescue.com Po box 2372 Reading pa 19608 Kennel license #9117

Story
Maxy is my 10 month old Boston Terrier mix puppy. She is super playful, very active and loves the outdoors. She loves playing with my son in the yard as well as well as long walks with me. She is still learning her comands but she is very smart. She would do well with a house with a fenced in yard. We are looking for a forever home for Maxy as my wife has become allergic to dog hair.
