Story
Current Location – Rochester Hills, MI Howdy, nice to meet you. The name is Oso, as in Oh so Handsome. I am a nice senior gentleman at 9 yrs, but don’t let my age fool you. I am very young at heart. I love to get my exercise in and go for long walks. I’m trying to get those 10k daily steps on my FitBit, to keep up with the youngsters. Don’t think I’m a slacker on leash either, I am Oso strong and will try to pull you where I want to go. I am very interested in meeting the single ladies out there, so I’m going to want to pull you over to that other dog we encounter. You may think I need to work on this a little, but I need to stay social. We can figure it out. In my homelife, I can be a little more dominant with other dogs. At my age, I want what I want and will be a little assertivesometimes with other dogs to obtain it. Well heck, I guess that applies to humans too. I want attention, as much as you can give me. Maybe you can teach me a few manners about this? I am a good listener and will respond to a strong command. If you’d like me to live with other dogs, they will need to be a bit more on the submissive side. Or I’m Oso happy to stay a swinging single and have your attention all to myself. As for those felines, I’ll admit I’m a bit curious of them, but we can likely cohabitate if introduced properly.  On occasion, I’m told I can be Oso vocal. That being the case, I’m not a candidate for apartment or condo living. I need to be able to speak my mind when I want to. As long as I’m getting my walks in, I probably don’t need a fence. I will need to be taught a few things, like to stay out of the trash and not jump at the door, but since I’m Oso happy to please my person, we’ll work this out quickly. If you have kids, I sometimes forget I’m Oso big, so I might knock them over by accident. Older kids might be better.  Do I sound Oso dreamy to you? How about you fill out one of those application things and my people will be in touch to discuss. ##2292446##

Story
Available to adopt – Athena Current location – Chesterfield MI Pretty Athena is ready to start looking for her perfect home. Athena will soon be turning 6. She is a shy and submissive lady, but loves you with her whole heart. She initially prefers women to men, but will be perfectly fine in time once she trusts you. In Athena’s earlier life, she was in an abusive situation so can be a little leery of new things, and loud noises.  She has been fostered with 2 other submissive female dogs and has done well with them. Cats are unknown, but with her nature, we think she could be fine given a proper introduction. Athena does like children, but since loud noises and fast movement can be scary, we think she would do best in a quieter home environment.  We have been working with her and our partner vets to determine the cause and treatment of some mild incontinence. It is the vet’s opinion that this was caused by being spayed at an older than usual age. She is taking an inexpensive drug to help with this, and we are still working to get the dosage correct. It will run less than $1 a day for this drug, and we certainly believe she’s worth every cent of that and more. When coming in from outside, she needs some slight sanitary assistance. It is unknown if this will continue once the meds are regulated (and the weather improves).  This sweetheart is a real gem, and seeks someone to love her unconditionally. Could it be you? ##2229788##

Story
Current location- Chicago Louis, Louis..what a perfect boxer boy. At 3.5 years, he's mature enough to do all the right things, but young enough to be wiggly, playful and active. This boy is a gentleman who loves to snuggle. He is the epitome of a velcro dog. He loves his people and prefers to be where they are. No more private bathroom trips for his new human, lol. Louis can be nervous when meeting new people. Any potential adopters need to expect this on an initial meeting. Once he is comfortable with you, he'll warm up and become your best bud. Louis will do best in a new home where his people are home with him often. Long work shifts are probably not best for him. He doesn't have separation anxiety, but he does love companionship. If you need to leave for a few hours, that's just fine. He'll great you with full body wiggles when you return.  Louis was surrendered because of scuffles with other dogs in the home. We do not know the specifics of which dog was causing this or full circumstances. In our care, Louis hasn't been fostered with other animals and has done well. On walks, he has not been reactive to other dogs. Cats are unknown. Louis can be a picky eater, but we think it's his way of trying to get human food instead. Sorry, Louis, not happening. Interested in earning this great boy's trust and love? You'll not regret it. ##2280966##
