Story
Available to adopt – Achilles Current Location – South of Detroit MI (Downriver) ** NOTE-Achilles requires a fence ** Meet handsome boy Achilles. He is a handsome middle aged boy of 6 who wants to be a lap dog and cuddler, once he settles in. Achilles is more of an alpha male and if given the choice, seems to prefer the company of men over women (though he is friendly to all). He loves being the center of attention.  Achilles seems to love attention and pets from humans and does get jealous if not getting all the love. He has all his basic skills down pat, but still needs a little work on not jumping and with leash walking. He is strong, excitable and will pull. He will do best with a strong human leader, and a strong dose of patience as he learns what is expected of him in his new home. For his safety, it is highly recommended that Achilles have a fenced yard. While in our care, he has not shown an interest in jumping the fence, but any potential adopter will need to watch carefully to keep him safe while he adjusts to his new home. Does Achilles sound like a good fit for you? Pre-approved adopters, please reach out. Not pre-approved? Apply here. ##2076936##

Story
Available to Adopt - Gully Current location - Toledo, OH Meet Gully, the boy with the most adorable underbite ever!  And he also comes armed with a full tail, no nub for this boy!  Gully is a typical high energy boxer, but he also knows when to calm down. Gully has a little "cloudy" of a background and there are some things we will never know for sure. Gully came to us as a stray that was in shelter care. He was very skinny, had some compression sores and a nasty infection. These issues have been dealt with, and he has no known medical issues. As for other unknowns, first is an exact age. He was originally estimated at 5 years at the shelter, but our vets and foster have guessed him to be much younger, possibly as young as 2. Gully does take a little time to feel comfortable with new people. This undoubtedly is due to his previous "life".  Once he knows you, he is very friendly and loving and adapts to new routines quickly. He does get startled with new noises outside the home, and will be vocal about it. His foster is working to help build his confidence with new noises and people, and his adoptive home will need to continue with this.  Gully is a highly trainable boy and learns new commands quickly. He is a very smart boy and very receptive to training. We hope to find him a home committed to further training, as he has the ability to go far and excel at it. He has been crate trained, and does well. He is potty trained, though as usual, will likely need a refresher course in his new home as he learns his new environment.  He tends to be more on the submissive side with other dogs. He is not a food snatcher, and if he has his preference, he will remain a grazer, not a gulper, LOL. He would love to have a playful dog friend in his new home. He is very good at adjusting his play style to the needs of other dogs. Gully does not seem to have much interest in cats, so we are not certain how he would do with them. His foster mom does believe he would chase chickens if given the chance, but respects their boundary when they are in their pen.  Mr. Gully would love to find a loving home that will help him continue to build his confidence and become the best dog he can be.  ##2005207##

Story
Available to Adopt - Travis Current location - Cleveland *Requires SLOW introductions to new people and a set protocol will need to be followed * Travis is a wonderfully loyal boy and will follow you around wherever you go. He does have some initial stranger danger, so will need slow introductions to new people. His foster is happy to show his new family the proven protocol that works for him. Travis is protective of his home and visitors should be calmly introduced. Pop in visitors stress Travis out, so routine is super important for his comfort and safety. Once he knows there is no threat, he is a complete love bug who requires regular pets and love. He will be your best friend – he just needs a little time to get used to new people. He would benefit from a home with a bit of land that provides some separation between his home and his neighbors. At the very least, we prefer a tall privacy fence. Travis loves to bounce, which is super adorable, but it also means he’s likely able to jump over a shorter fence.  Travis loves the car! If you need to leave him behind, be prepared for a happy greeting when you return. He's good to free roam and hasn't shown any separation anxiety. Travis does seek an adult only home. Kids appear to make him a bit uneasy. Adults and seniors seem to be more his speed. He will be quite happy to lounge on the couch and chill with you – after a good walk or play session, of course.  He will make someone a very loyal and loving companion. We do not have any history of Travis with cats. He has lived with another dog in the past, but a meet with any potential housemates would be required as he seems selective. A submissive dog of similar size might be ok. Travis is 7 years old, but don't let that number fool you. He can still be plenty playful, and loves toys and a good game of fetch. He is a typical boxer clown  ##729425##

Story
Hi, I'm Sahara! The smartest, friendliest, and most playful puppy you'll ever meet. I love other dogs, kids, and bones - especially the squeaky ones! Now, how did I end up here, you ask? Well, it's quite the tale. One day, I saw a squirrel. Naturally, I chased it. That squirrel led me on a wild chase through the park, over a fence, and right into the shelter's backyard! I swear, that squirrel was in cahoots with them. But, enough about my past. I'm looking forward to a future filled with belly rubs, fetch, and endless love. Adopt me, and let's create our own funny stories!

Story
This little beauty is Daisy. She's about 2 1/2 years old boxer/pit mix. She walks well on her leash and likes cats. Daisy has been attacked in the past by smaller dogs and causing much fear and distrust, but with time and patience she will be able to overcome this. Daisy likes to play with toys and tug is a favorite game. She knows sit and paw and is very smart and eager to learn. She would do great in an active home because she is young and full of fun but is content to come in and sleep in bed when done. If you think Daisy is the girl for you, please fill out a meet and greet application: https://forms.gle/uqMM9wsV2YyKUEPs5
