Story
Hi, I'm Forrest, a 7-year-old boxer mix who may have wandered a bit too far but is now ready to settle down with my forever family. I might be a little older, but that just means I have the perfect balance of energy and wisdom. I'm a big fan of walks and playtime, but I'm also just as happy to relax by your side. I've got a heart full of love to give and a gentle soul that's waiting to find a place to call home. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's been through a lot but still believes in the good in people, I'm your guy!

Story
Socks is in a foster home and this is what they have to say:If you are looking for a family man Socks is the guy! He is definitely one of a kind! He enjoys going on walks and riding in the car with the window down. When you get home he doesn't just welcome you, he asks you how your day went and then he tells you about his exciting adventures. He loves to talk. If he needs to go potty he makes a woo woo sound. It's so adorable. He is great and has had no accidents and is completely house broke. He has very good house manners. He leaves things alone that he knows are not his. He will always ask permission to get on a piece of furniture. He loves his late afternoon naps on the couch and to cuddle with one of his foster brothers in bed each night. He is awesome with kids of all ages. He loves the attention and being part of the pack. He has been spending most of his summer days outside with them pool side waiting on the splashes and chance to run and play fetch with a stick. He is always alert and on squirrel watch. Socks is a very intelligent boy. We are learning more from him each day that he knows. He is beyond simple voice commands. Socks also knows hands commands. He can follow the simple sit, stay, say please and thank you, roll over and lay down. He also knows fun tricks like hug, high five, dance, sit pretty, bang bang, sing, play dead and so much more. He is very treat oriented. You would never guess this guy to be older in age. He keeps up with kids like he is one of the. This family man is ready to find a home full of love and pack full of energy to keep up with him.

Story
Meet Maggie (formerly Darla) - a bundle of joy wrapped in fur! Maggie came to us skin and bones, and her original name didn’t quite fit her vibrant personality, so we decided on Magnolia, or Maggie for short. She's around 5 to 7 years old, but don't let that fool you - she has the energy and spirit of a puppy. Maggie's playful antics will keep you laughing for days. She's your typical boxer - a snuggle bug who loves attention and wants to be with you always, though she'll also happily wander off to do her own thing. Despite her initial condition, Maggie has never been destructive and relaxes comfortably when left alone, rotating her sleeping spots. She has a knack for building nests, gently layering beds, rugs, or blankets until they’re just right. Maggie is incredibly sweet and highly motivated by attention, and sometimes food. We supplemented her food with wet food to help her gain weight, and now she has a preference for it over dry food. While she can be transitioned back to dry food, expect a bit of side-eye during the process. The best way to persuade her to do something is to cheer her on; she thrives on knowing she’s making you happy and gets genuinely bummed if she realizes she’s done something wrong. We are still working on leash training and door darting. She understands the concepts but needs consistent practice. Maggie gets along well with other dogs at home, though she does toy-guard, so we haven't put toys out. She doesn’t like any form of aggression, even playful, and has taken on the role of the "fun police." With (a short amount of) time, she warms up to other dogs for snuggles if no humans are available. Outside, she shows interest in other dogs but the interest may just be anxiety. She does not do well with cats due to her high interest, which does not appear to be friendly. Maggie would be fine as the only dog or with other laid-back, non-territorial dogs. She’s a sweetheart who just wants to love and be loved, and she’ll bring endless joy and laughter to her forever home. Maggie did have a mass cell tumor removed and is considered cured but her future adopters will need to keep a close eye to be sure she doesn't have anymore that pop up. Please apply on our website. www.trackingintheshadows.com Her adoption fee is $200 and she has been fully vetted for 1 year. ##2088928##

Story
I rescued Roscoe in 2014 from a very bad living situation. The only thing I knew about his age was that we was 10 months old at the time, so I estimated his birthday as sometime in August 2013. Over the years, I have came to realize that he does not do well with other male dogs at all, and it’s best if a female is introduced to him as a puppy or smaller breed. He does not show aggression to puppies or smaller breeds at all. He has lived in the house with cats but he doesn’t prefer them. He gets along with people of all ages. I have never had him show aggression to any human, not one time. He loves to cuddle and just be loved on. He is a runner and escape artist and will do best in a home with a fenced in backyard. He is left at home alone for hours at a time and has no bathroom issues or chewing up of anything other than pillows and stuffed animals. He is just an old man who wants to be able to roam outside for hours and then come in and cuddle.
