Story
From the Foster: Ajax is a gentle, sweet guy approaching 9 years old. He requires moderate levels of daily exercise and has pep in his step! His favorite activity is fetching his rubber ball in the yard. He is a solid guy that might pull a little on walks to sniff something special so the handler must be strong enough to redirect him. Ajax is indifferent to other dogs, he will walk past them with barely a look. In our home, he is very respectful of our grumpy 11 year old small dog and they basically ignore each other. Ajax has recently begun a veterinary prescribed weight loss plan with the goal of losing 13 pounds to get him to his ideal 53 pound size. This will require a potential adopter to feed twice daily at the prescribed quantities and limit treats during the day. He has been doing great on this plan and enjoys hugs and "good boy" pets rather than treats anyway! He is very much motivated by food and will lay in the kitchen watching intently while the humans are preparing food however, he does not beg or try to jump up. Ajax will thrive best in a home where the humans are home most of the day. He would be a great companion to empty nesters, retired and work from home parents that enjoy multiple daily walks to keep him stimulated. He is a quiet dog and only barks as appropriate to alert us to a delivery van, someone at the door, unusual noises, thunder/lightning. He follows us around the home often throughout the day and has displayed a little anxiety/panic whining when he is left alone for short periods but hoping this improves once he's been here longer and more comfortable in his new environment. He has a few old guy "lumps and bumps" on his belly but all have been tested and nothing of concern. Ajax is taking a daily joint supplement Dasuquin for joint health as he ages. This supplement can be purchased at pet stores and over the counter. Ajax is not tested with Cats and it is unknown if he is crate trained. He is a champ at going to bed and sleeps quietly on his orthopedic bed for a solid 8 hours until his humans get up.

Story
Hi! I'm Red. I'm from Missouri. From his foster: Hi! I'm Red. I'm from Missouri. My people call me Ol' Red or Shredder. I have gotten pretty comfy in my foster home pretty fast- its been about two weeks. Before this I was in another foster home for about a month that I also liked but they had to get some work done on their home so I found a new spot. You can see what they had to say about me at the bottom! So far in my new home I have gotten to know a cat- she doesnt really like me or want me around but she mostly lets me live. After a few kinna scary boops I have learned to give her her space (once I just turned around into the corner to hide.. shes small but feisty O_O) . Most days I: wait patiently (and silently!) for my foster mom to get up. Then we go for a little spin around the block so I can sniff everything, pee in many places, etc. When we come in from outside I am learning to wait for my ma to take my harness off. I usually go right into working on one of my toys or wait for food in my snufflemat. My nickname is Shredder because I LOVE to shred a toy, find all the squeakers and remove all the stuffing. It is my main hobby. I have never tried to shred something that wasnt mine tho! After playing with toys I like to lay on the couch and snore for hours or snuggle next to the nearest human. I am surprisingly good at going back to my own work when people have food around me- I seem to know the word No in a stern voice. I might know my name too, but we're not certain yet. Eventually we go on more short strolls, 20 mins is kind of my max. Then I repeat the mornings activities. I take an omega supplement right now because people have said my back legs seem a little arthritic, but I seem to be doing well right now. I don't mind eating my pill twice a day with some accompanying treats. When my foster mom is at work, out of the house, or doing things where she can't watch me, I go in my crate. I dont like to go in on my own, but when she tosses some treats in it I do. And then I'm pretty much just silent and chilling till it's time to go out again. Right now I always go outside when I come out of my crate, especially cause I love marking around town. However, I've only had two smoll accidents in the house since getting here- one peeing on the literal human toilet (so close) and the other on my first day while getting the lay of the land I found the thing the cat loves to rub her face on so, obviously. I love being in the presence of my person, sitting next to (or on) them on the couch, following them from room to room etc. On walks I love to meet new people and dogs, so I can sometimes put the brakes on if I don't get to (which is most of the time). I am particularly interested in people working and in cars. I am getting faster at moving along when told to. I love pets and scratches, and although I have some signs of wear (lol) I am only particular about touch when it comes to my rear feet/toes. Overall, I'm a sweet easy going guy who just wants someone to love and hangout with, perhaps a sibling??, toys to shred, and some strolls. From his current foster: I could have easily foster failed Red already because he is lovable, sweet, easy going, and silly. I do think however that he would love a home with less stairs as he ages (he does great on them right now, but ours are tall steep and uncarpeted :/) and I think he would love another similar age/activity level dog to live, play and relax with. From his previous foster: Red is a super sweet and affectionate boxer bulldog mix. He is good with people and other dogs, but we are not sure about cats. Red is very quiet and so far hasn't reacted when people have come inside the home. He doesn't need much exercise; a few 5 - 10 minute walks per day, or a few times outside each day in a fenced yard are enough. For these reasons, he would probably do well in any type of home environment. He is very friendly and insistent on approaching people and other dogs on walks, so we are working on his leash manners. Red is very treat motivated, so he will need to continue his training with treats on hand. Red is crate trained, potty trained, and he loves going on car rides. Red can be a little stubborn on walks when a person or another dog catches his attention. He also tires quickly on his walks, especially when it is warm outside

Hi! I'm Honey. From her foster: 10 Days In... Honey is the sweetest girl She loves to cuddle on the couch She loves going for walks She loves her humans (kids and adults) She is very respectful of the family dog 16yr old 20lb alpha She loves the family cats She loves to chase the chickens And smell/lick them when close enough She loves her toys She loves to pounce on anything that moves during her walks She's so silly! She loves belly scratches She is pottytrained She is crate trained She does not like a lot of loud noises Will retreat to her crate on her own She does not like thunderstorms Makes for a quick potty break though We are still working on leash training She likes to pull a little still We are still working on her prey drive for the chickens and bunnies If you are looking for a sweet girl who will give you more love than you can handle, look no further. Honey is your girl! From the Vet: Hi! I'm honey and I wanted to share some medical history with my new forever family! I was previously diagnosed with a skin condition called demodex and I started on treatment plan. Things are already improved but I will continue to be monitored and finish the course of medications recommended by the veterinary team. My future family may want to establish care with a primary vet for me just in case I need any future care for my skin.

Hi! I'm Bea. I'm from Texas! From her foster: Bea is 32 pounds of pure joy. She is transitioning from a puppy into an adult dog who loves to both adventure with your family and snuggle on the couch. She has loved taking walks by the lake and trips to the farmers market and wants to say hello to everyone she sees. She is always looking for a lap to sit in but if you need space she is happy to hang out close by with a bone. Bea is still working on learning basic commands and home etiquette, but she is food motivated and excited to learn. She is potty trained on a schedule. She sleeps quietly in a crate and due to her curious puppy energy should probably hang out in a crate when unattended. She loves to play with other dogs. She is very gentle with our toddler and a great companion for kids. Anyone who adopts her will be lucky to have a wonderful companion in their life.

Story
I give you my very best “awoooo” as a hello! My name is Janet, and I was probably named after Ms. Jackson since we’re both such fabulous ladies. My siblings and I were strays down south before we were found by some lovely people. Turns out pets and kisses are about the best thing! I recently came to MN with my brother. Our sister came up before us and has been adopted already. I’m only a little bit jealous!A little bit about me: before coming to MN I had never been in this thing called a “house” so it’s been a little bit of a learning curve for me. I’m learning things like stairs, the TV, and other household items aren’t so scary. I need a family that will be patient with me and help me continue learning. Even with just coming up to MN I already sleep all night in my kennel without a peep! My foster mom says I’m just the smartest girly! I’m so proud to announce that I still haven’t had a single accident in the house. Go me!!Otherwise, I’m pretty chill! I have lived with many other dogs and get along with them really well. I’ve been great at sharing my toys and having chew things around with other dogs, which is amazing since I started life on the streets of Alabama. My foster mom says I have a perfectly squishable face, which I think is a compliment. I come out my shell a little bit more every day and am excited to see what new things I’m going to learn tomorrow.Hope to sniff you soon!!***FOSTER TO ADOPT***Janet is Heartworm positive and is currently going through treatment. Once her treatment is complete, the adoption can be finalized. Once her adoption is finalized, it is the responsibility of the adoptive family to get a Heartworm test every 2 months to follow up on her treatment progress until she has a negative result which can take 2-9 months. During these months, you will need to make sure her heart rate is not elevated due to high energy play or exercise. Janet will also need continued use of monthly Heartworm prevention going forward. These medical needs will be the responsibility of the adopter. If you are interested in adopting Janet, please fill out an adoption application. --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $400To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Hi, I’m Rolf, nice to meet you! My name means ‘glory’ and wouldn’t it be glorious if I could be the new addition to your family? I lived in Alabama for a very short time before my siblings, my mom and I came to Minnesota. I love them, but I’m ready to venture out and find a forever family of my own. Here are a few things that you should know about me: ● I will never say no to cuddling ● I’d love to go on adventures with you! ● I’m sweet and playful I could tell you much more, but they told me to keep it short. I’d love it if you came to see me in person so I can show you why I could be the perfect pup for you. I’ll be counting down the days until I get to see you! --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.
