Story
Meet Sadie ! A boxer mix who is full of energy and a zest for life :) Most importantly she is very affectionate with her human companions. She is currently in foster care with a shelter employee where we are learning a lot about her. She could play the day away playing fetch, or chasing her favorite toy at the end of a flirt pole. She can also settle nicely in her crate after a good play session for a full work day and will be ready to go on an adventure with you when you get home. Just ask the foster for picture's of her sleeping in her crate during the day!Things that she is still working on: she gets very excited when you come home and will jump up to demonstrate her enthusiasm. Her leash skills are coming along well and she has a good sit. While at her foster home she has enjoyed playing with larger male dogs, and has been neutral to large female dogs. She would be great in a home with another large dog, and we can do a meet and greet with your dog to make sure they are a good match. If you are looking for a fun playmate that loves all of the cuddles that Sadie might be your girl. All animals available for adoption at HSHPE have been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered, and have been treated for internal/external parasites.Adopters will receive a $25 gift certificate from Ren's Pets and a pet care booklet from Pet Valu with coupons worth up to $300. Cat adoptions will also receive a coupon for a free 7LB bag of World's Best Cat Litter from Ren's Pets. Plus, adopters who bring the paperwork from their HSHPE adoption to PetSmart Belleville or Kingston will receive a booklet with coupons worth up to $300. Story
Bruiser is an 8-year-old Boxer-Mastiff mix with a big heart. As a senior dog, he qualifies for our Senior for Senior program, offering a special opportunity for an older adopter to find a loving companion in Bruiser. At first glance, Bruiser might seem a bit grumpy-his serious demeanor and powerful build can be a little intimidating. However, beneath that exterior lies a sweet and gentle soul who just wants to be loved. With a little patience, you'll quickly discover that Bruiser is a true gentleman, eager to share his affection with a calm and understanding family.Due to his size and unknown history, Bruiser would do best in a home without children. He might enjoy the companionship of another dog, but a proper meet and greet is essential to ensure they're a good match. Brusier would be fine in a house with a calm dog friendly cat.Bruiser is ready for a peaceful and loving retirement, where he can spend his golden years in comfort and security. If you're looking for a loyal and devoted companion who has plenty of love left to give, Bruiser is the perfect match. Come meet him and see for yourself what a wonderful addition he could be to your home.

She is looking for a loving home where she can be the center of attention. She prefers to be the only pet and will shower you with affection. She's still getting used to nail trims and can be a bit protective of her food, so she'd benefit from an experienced owner who can guide her through these areas.
