I am super friendly to everyone I meet and in my past I have lived with children and cats. I'd be the perfect fit for any family as long as you have an open heart and the time for me. Story
Name, age, breed: Rio, 6 years, BoxerLikes: Treats and being around peopleDislikes: Other dogsWhat would be the ideal home? Rio would do best in a home with no children under 12 years of age. Best suited as the only pet in the household due to prey drive and trouble focusing around other dogs. Would do best with a adopter who has breed experience as Rio require mandatory obedience and has a high exercise requirement. Good with other cats? No cats or small critters due to high prey drive. Good with dogs? No, in the shelter Rio has shown aggression towards other dogs. He has a hard time focusing on his handler when in the presence of other animals. Due to this Rio would thrive best as the only pet in the household.Good with children? No children under 12 years oldTemperament: Friendly towards people, and loves to spend as much time as possible with his people. Motivators? TreatsAny commands? Sit (sometimes)House trained? UnknownCrate trained? UnknownHow long will it take to settle into a new environment? A few weeksAny special needs or traits an adopter should know? Rio is muzzle trained and does not mind wearing his muzzle. He is excited to go on walks, and does tend to pull very strongly on the leash. If you think Rio is for you, fill out an application today!

Story
An Easy-going Social Butterfly Rene is energetic and low key - a balanced doggo who after a game of fetch is happy to sit at your feet and relax. ABOUT RENEE: - Boxer/Rottweiler mix, Medium-size, Medium-energy- 11 month-old, Female, 44 lbs (she has grown to most of her adult size but will continue to grow for another year or more)- Renee came to EHS as an unclaimed stray from an overcrowded shelter- She is great on a walk and already a loose leash walker, she's happiest slowly strolling along beside you taking in her surroundings- She is very fun and playful and will happily toss the ball and chase it down all by herself- She is house-trained, microchipped and has core her vaccinations ( she will be spayed before adoption)RENEE'S IDEAL HOME:- Renee's ideal home is with an active family who loves to walk and can give her exercise- A family to work on using her smarts and building her obedience skills- She has showed some vocalness in the shelter environment when left alone, while we are unsure if this would translate to a home environment, we are recommending her for a home with no shared walls- She may be good with other dogs or animals in the home given her calm demeanor, this would be discussed with the Adoption CoordinatorReady for this floppy-eared wonder? If you have any questions about Renee, contact her Adoption Coordinator at: lauren.etobicokehumanesociety@gmail.com VISIT: Etobicoke Humane Society

Story
Name, age, breed: Chloe, 4yr, Boxer mixLikes: everybody (very social), cuddles, watching cars go by (especially motorcycles), leash walks, going for car ridesDislikes: Unknown What would be the ideal home? Any home! She is very laid back and happy. Good with other cats? Unknown but possibleGood with dogs? Yes, does very well. No guarding and aggression noted.Good with children? Unknown but possibleTemperament: Very friendly, active and curious.Motivators? TreatsAny commands? Sit, still learning recall House trained? YesCrate trained? Yes, but can leave out of crate when you aren't home. She doesn't chew or destroy anything. How long will it take to settle into a new environment? 2-3 weeksAny special needs or traits an adopter should know? A new person is greeted with a bark and a wagging tail followed by face licks if they engage her and offer a belly rub. She loves a good couch and will stretch out for hours but politely give it up if you want your seat back.Medical: Had both knees operated on for ruptured cruciate and loose kneecaps. She is well into the healing period for her second procedure now and is progressing well. She will need one more minor operation to remove the plate from her left knee which unfortunately became infected after the operation. This means she will be on antibiotics until the end of the summer when the procedure can take place. She takes them well in a meatball of canned food and seems to have no intestinal side effects. Likely she will be on arthritis preventing supplements for life and a Joint Mobility diet to maintain the health of these joints. The adoption will be a partial adoption until she receives her surgery. History of ear infections (no current treatment required). If you think Chloe is the one for you - fill out an application today!
