We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.7/9/24 STILL AVAILABLE! 6/3/24 AkiraI'm a little late welcoming Akira to rescue because she's actually been with us for a little while. I finally got to meet her today and what a pleasant surprise! Photos do nothing to show how adorable and tiny she is. She is maybe 20 lbs. See the photo of her with the cat- shes not much bigger than him. Akira was dumped near tractor supply in Benton, AR a while back. She ran around the area, evading people for months. She was just scared to death. But one of our awesome volunteers was able to trap her a few weeks back. After she got past the initial fear of being trapped, she just gave in. And now her personality is really shining! This tiny girl is so friendly and sweet! Good with other dogs, good with kids but gets a little nervous with the toddler who visits, so older kids would probably be best. Great with cats as well! At about 2 years old, she is done growing and is about 20 bs. She is now fully vetted and heartworm negative.Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. Sophie is a very, very sweet girl hoping to find a home soon! She is about 4.5-5 months old. We do not know her breed for sure, but Boxer mix? More than likely, she is a mix of several breeds...all American mutt! She is good with other dogs. She hasn't been around kids but she is very sweet and is just a baby, so we think she'd be just fine! Same for cats, she hasn't been around them but she is young so with supervision and training, she should be fine.  She is spayed, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.   In New England.   To apply to adopt, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 8/11/24 Everyone, meet Waffles.   Photos make him look much larger than he really is. He is only about 10 lbs right now, and about 10 wks old. From their foster mom:   Waffles (purple collar) is an excellent, good boy! He's friendly and outgoing, usually the first to meet a new thing. So far, he does so calmly, with loose wags and minimal fuss. I'm encouraging this in everything - he is so far unbothered by our dogs, cats, and horses. He let's brother and sister clobber him, and he just rolls around and loves it. Occasionally, he clobbers them back!   He's learning how to sleep in a crate at night, how to potty outside, and how to greet without jumping up. He is sweet, smart, and pretty chill for a puppy. He is going to make someone an excellent family dogs! He is neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.  He is good with cats, dogs, and kids.  Waffles' brother, Chicken, and sister Reba are also available.  Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 8/11/24 Everyone, meet Reba; sister to Chicken & Waffles.  Reba is a spunky but sweet, good girl. She is friendly and fairly out going. She’s learning to cohabitate with our two dogs (4 yr old Doberman, 12 yr old mixed breed) and two cats. She’s naturally curious and will meet new experiences with gentle wags, a sit and then watch before engaging. She’s learning how to sleep in a crate at night, how to potty outside, and how to greet without jumping up. Reba (and brothers, Chicken and Waffles) are sweet, smart, and pretty chill for puppies. They’re going to make some excellent family members! We do not know their breed- they are very mixed and probably have many different breeds in their heritage. We estimate adult weight around 40-50 lbs, based on current size. They are currently about 10wks old and about 10lbs. Spayed, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.  Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Story
"Melody is a lovely girl with lots of love to give. She is friendly, affectionate, loyal, playful, smart, curious, funny, athletic and quiet all in one! She is a very dignified dog but can be a bit of a couch potato too, and she definitely loves her doggie kisses. Melody is a lovely, unique girl and I'm sure she will bring lots of joy to her new owners. She came into rescue with her 4 babies and was a wonderful mom. She just completed heartworm treatment and is a happy girl. She gets along with other dogs but would love to be the only dog in the home so that she can receive all the love and attention from her new family. She is a very special girl and all she needs if to find the right home." Melody is two and a half years old, weighs 52#, is spayed, vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and on heartworm and flea prevention. Her adoption fee is 400.00
