Story

“Addie” is a staffie mix with a sad backstory looking for her happy ending. This sweet girl is a lover of all humans, particularly kids! Because of her overly social nature she can be very forward in wanting to greet people and dogs alike on her walks (or the vet, or dog park, or anywhere) but she has not shown aggression or any intent to harm! She is highly food motivated and LOVES training (shake is her favorite!), but is also laid back and content to sun herself outside or lay at your feet for a movie night. She is very smart, so you must manage food access, as she will binge as much as you’ll allow! She does require a secure fence as she will use openings to go play with neighbor dogs if given the chance. Because of her size, we do not recommend her placed with small dogs. She can be pushy with insecure dogs, but is well socialized and enjoys the company of most, although another dog in the home is not a must for her. She does have allergies and maintaining daily medication for her is a must to avoid itching and ear infections. Gypsys DNA test results are mostly Boxer, Husky, and German Shepherd. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited or wants something (we now know that comes from the Boxer in her). Gypsy is around 5 years of age and weighs 70 pounds. Gypsy came from a bad home. She was not being fed and was severely underweight. So the people surrendered Gypsy and her puppies to animal control to avoid animal cruelty charges. We don't know why Gypsy has not been adopted yet. She is a very good girl and is the most obedient dog I have ever seen. She knows how to sit and comes when called. She is housetrained and very well behaved in the house. She likes her crate and sleeps in it with the door open. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a vehicle. Gypsy loves her toys, especially squeaky ones, and she loves playing fetch. Gypsy is active - she loves to run and play with toys and other dogs. She loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot, and we bet she would love snow. She gets excited about squirrels, cats, and critters on the other side of the fence. Gypsy normally does well with all dogs but gets along best with male dogs. She would also prefer a home without annoying toy dogs or puppies that get in her face. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with children. Gypsy is smart and might benefit from more obedience training from someone firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is a sweet dog. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy must be in the house as a loved family member. She must be walked on a leash and have a yard with a 6' fence to run and play. Gypsy spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. She is now heartworm-free and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. We would love Gypsy to have a fabulous forever home and we will consider both in-state and out-of-state applications. Her in-state adoption fee is $200. Her out-of-state adoption fee is $450 and includes the cost of ground transport by a trusted and reputable company. Gypsy can be transported almost anywhere within the continental United States. Pup Tart would be the perfect addition to any family brunch or movie night. She had a rough beginning to her life and was confiscated as a cruelty case in Louisiana. She came into our rescue and is currently learning "how to dog'. She is thriving more everyday with learning to trust and building her confidence. She has been a great playmate with other dogs, gentle with the small kids in her foster home, and has not minded the cats in the home. Pup Tart is small (25 lbs) and at a healthy weight so she is not expected to get any bigger. She would love to have a family of her own to spend the upcoming holiday with. I am a sweet, shy young man who was abandoned by my owner and Loving Arms stepped up to keep me off the nasty streets. I do have a tendency to drool.
