Story
Penny is a 19 month old Brittany/Hound mix. She is UTD on vaccines, microchipped, Heartworm negative and on preventative.  She minds her foster mom really well and has great recall. Penny knows the command sit and is working on stay. She is not very vocal and does not bark much. She loves running in the yard and is good with other dogs. Penny loves her toys and she also loves treats. Penny is a very healthy girl. Penny's foster mom says she is not destructive and loves to lounge in her dog bed. Because she gets overly excited, Penny jumps on people, but her foster mom is working with her.  Because of her jumping, Penny will not be a good fit for a home with small children.  Penny is being fostered in Tennessee. Her adoption fee is $325.00 and can be transported up to 1400 miles via our Canine Railroad with the adopter taking the last leg, usually less than 100 miles.  Applications for Penny can be found on www.nbran.org.  For more information, email dltuthill@epbfi.com or ztasuzanne@gmail.com.  August 18, 2024, 5:43 pm

Story
Meet Scoutie: Your Future Best Friend! Hi there! My name is Scoutie, and I'm on a mission to find my forever home. I'm a 2 ½-year-old, 44-pound bundle of joy, wrapped in a handsome orange and white Brittany coat. Life has been quite the adventure so far, but I'm ready to settle down with a loving family who will cherish me as much as I'll cherish them. A Little About Me: Personality: I'm the definition of well-mannered and easy-going. Whether it's playing fetch in the yard or snuggling on the couch, I'm happiest when I'm with my people. Health: I'm up-to-date on all my vaccines and have a clean bill of health, including being heartworm and tick negative. Housebroken: Yep, no accidents here! I know my way around a house and will be a respectful roommate. Social Butterfly: I get along with everyone—humans, dogs, you name it! My foster mom says I have a heart of gold. Why I'm Looking for a New Home: My original family had to give me up for my safety, but now I'm in a loving foster home. My foster mom is dedicated to helping other dogs find homes too, so she's helping me find my perfect match. What I'm Looking For: A Secure Yard: I love to explore, so a physical fence of at least 5 ft is a must to keep me safe while I patrol the neighborhood. Companionship: While I'd enjoy having a doggy sibling, I'm also perfectly happy being your one and only as long as I'm the center of your world. Ready to make your life a little more wonderful? Let’s get that application started! I can’t wait to meet you and become the newest member of your family. The adoption fee for TX/Scoutie, who lives in Conroe, TX  is $400,  which helps to offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you are interested in making TX/Scoutie part of your family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.nbran.org .  Contact the South Central Region Coordinators Chris Wagoner at cwnbran@gmail.com  , Melinde Waddle at macgammy@gmail.com and/or Nancy Walker at nwalker@capecod.net  and then let your state coordinator know so we can get the ball rolling.  A phone interview, home visit and vet check will be required as part of the approval process by your state coordinator, before talking to the foster of Scoutie. Transportation can be arranged up to 1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.  August 18, 2024, 5:43 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Daisy and I'm looking for my forever home. I'm a Brittany mixed with red/white Irish Setter so I have long legs and a long bushy tail!  I'm 2 years old and very healthy, even though I was found wandering around on my own.  I ended up in a shelter and no one claimed me, so NBRAN saved me!  My foster mom says I am an all around great girl, who just needs some training! I love everyone that I meet - all humans, kids, dogs and cats! I am playful and would love to have another dog playmate in my new home. I am also content to lounge on the couch.  I weigh about 49 pounds and can stand to still gain a few. Remember, I'm very leggy! I really need a large fenced yard that I can run in and get my energy out.  If I don't have an outlet for this energy, then I can get into mischief if I am left home alone. I get bored and stir crazy. I do some counter surfing. I also might dig around in the trashcan if that's left out to tempt me. So, my house manners are still a work in progress.  I normally do great on a leash with harness, but sometimes I get very excited to see other dogs, that I will pull like crazy.   I do know the command sit, but still working on not jumping on people. I just really love people, so I get really excited and don't understand personal space. I am very loving and easy going, and would love to be your companion!  I am located in eastern North Carolina and can be transported up to 1400 miles.  I ride great in the car, but can be a little timid about getting in initially. My adoption fee is $325.  If you think I could be your new best friend, please submit an adoption application and mention my name! Please message jessica@thesouthernway.com with any questions. August 18, 2024, 5:43 pm

Story
Hi everyone. I'm Leo. Like Leo the Lion. And coincidentally, I just turned 3 so if you're into astrology, I am a Leo! I am a happy, healthy active 37 lb young man and am currently in the market for a forever family. I am located in London, Ontario (Canada) I used to be a kennel/breeding dog but I only live inside now. I am crate trained and good in my crate, but I'd likely be pretty happy to sleep with you, and I like to cuddle with you on the couch. I am not yet trustworthy when left alone, so put me in my crate and I'm happy.  I'm learning leash walking and do not have it mastered yet. I am your typical active Brittany and do need a fully fenced yard to RUN and RUN (two of my favourite things). I am very interested in squirrels and critters, so cats are a no for me.  I like all dogs and people. I'd be good in a home with older kids that I can't knock over too easily (working on that too).  I currently am an only dog and would be good with that again with lots of exercise but I do very much like the company of other dogs with my energy level.  I'm up to date on my vaccines. Heartworm negative. Neutered.  Microchipped. Ready to GO!  So if you think you're my new peeps, please submit an application online. http://www.nbran.org/ My adoption fee is $400 US.   Contact the sandratoal18@gmail.com once you have submitted your application.   A phone interview, home visit and vet check will be required as part of the approval process by your local coordinator, before talking to the foster of Leo. Transportation can be arranged up to 2200 kms/1400 miles with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles. August 18, 2024, 5:43 pm

Story
Meet Benny: The Sweetheart Who’s Ready to Steal Your Heart! NBRAN Benny is on the lookout for a loving foster-to-adopt home, and he’s ready to bring joy and fun into your life! Benny will be 4 years old in November and weighs a perfect 24.2 lbs. This little guy is full of love and energy, and he’s just waiting for the right family to come along. Why You’ll Love Benny: Water and Toy Lover: Benny adores playing in water and can’t get enough of his toys. Whether it’s splashing around or chasing after his favorite ball, he’s always up for some fun! Sweet and Cuddly: Benny is a total sweetheart who loves to sleep in bed with you. He’s house trained, crate trained, and absolutely loves being close to his humans. Great with Dogs and Kids: Benny gets along well with dogs and kids, making him the perfect family dog. However, he hasn’t been around cats, so a feline-free home might be best. Command Master: Benny is one smart cookie! He knows commands like "yes," "sit," "wait," "lay," "roll," "spin," and "go to bed." He even loves to play soccer—talk about a fun playmate! A Little About Benny: Benny was surrendered by his previous owners because they didn’t have enough time for him, but that hasn’t dampened his spirits. He’s healthy, up-to-date on all his vaccines, and ready to find a family that will love and cherish him forever. If you’re looking for a playful, smart, and loving companion who will bring endless joy to your life, Benny is the one for you. He’s ready to find his forever home—could it be with you? For a Foster to Adopt, you need to be approved, just like an adoption, as we are hoping adoption is the ultimate outcome.  Benny will need to be matched to a family that will hopefully be a forever home.  Benny is in the South-Central Region, which includes states: TX/OK/AR/MO/KS.  Any homes that are interested outside of Benny’s Region, need to go through your State Coordinator. Fostering info:  NBRAN pays the vet bills while fostering and fostering time on Benny would be 3 weeks.  Adoption Fee for Benny is $400.  We do transport up to 1400 miles with you doing at least the last 100 miles. If you have any questions, please reach out to your State Coordinator. This is a good time to learn about fostering.  A good way to get a second dog.  It is a win, win for you and the rescue furbaby.  August 18, 2024, 5:43 pm
