Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hey there potential human! I'm Tase, the boss pup you've been waiting for. I'm a 50-pound Bull Terrier mix, smart, athletic, and let's face it, pretty amazing. Let's get down to business:   House-trained? Check. Crate-trained? Check. But let's not overdo it - I prefer being out and about when you're home. I'm an active guy with impressive jumping skills, so a secure yard is a must.    Now I do get along with other dogs, but here's the thing: I would like a home where I can be the star of the show. Training and attention? Give me all of it! I'm about 2 years old, super smart, and catch on quickly but I love and need the mental stimulation that training can give me. I love training and already know a lot of obedience and a few tricks. It's easy! Just grab a treat and you've got my attention.    I'm looking for an owner who can match my energy and smarts. Training, mental stimulation, and clear boundaries are what I thrive on. But it's not all action all the time; I'm a pro at chill time too. Need a dog who will lean against you and sit on your feet? I can do that!   So, if you're ready for an adventurous, cuddly, and somewhat bossy best friend, I'm your guy. Let's meet and conquer life together! Story
Hi my name is Nina! I’m without doubt the sweetest dog you will ever meet. I am a 8 year old bull terrier mix. The beginning years of my life were filled with hardship and turmoil but I am still so dedicated to turn it around and become my best self. I am friendly and easy going with every living thing, I’ve lived with kids, cats, dogs etc and never had any issues. I definitely would love to have a confident dog in my new home to snuggle and play with. Because of my unstable past, I have some insecurities being left home alone. Luckily my foster mom is a trainer and together we are making great strides in my confidence and ability to be alone. I continue to impress her everyday. As long as I have my exercise needs met and a little structure, I am essentially the perfect dog. I listen to commands and never do anything inherently naughty. My ideal life will be filled with dog friends, long hikes and endless snuggles. If you are willing to take a chance on me, I promise you I will be worth it.Nina is looking for an active family who can keep up with her energy and give her the love and structure she needs to shine. Her adoption fee is $200, and she comes spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. If you’re ready to give this sweet girl her perfect forever home, apply at CAWS adoption application.Note: Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We find the best match for each pet, and applications may take up to 48 hours to process. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationJanuary 5, 2025, 5:46 am

Story
There is so much goodness packed into this girls petite little frame and I promise, if you are looking for a dog that will keep the good times rolling, Naomi is your girl! Friendly, playful, attentive, with a contagious kind of happiness, she is the side-kick that could win an award for Best Supporting character energy. Take a look then come back to read more about this cutie girl! https://youtu.be/WwwHzs9zpqE In rescue we cannot say with 100% certainty a dogs breed or age but more than a few signs point to her being a Bull Terrier- a Spuds McKenzie, a Target dog, a Patton dog… these are all things people will say when you are walking her and they can’t remember the breeds name. She will be more than happy to greet each and every one of her adoring fans. If you do not like attention, this isn’t the girl for you- she is magnetic and her friendly nature will get you into at least one conversation with a stranger when you’re out and about. Weighing 30 lbs she is giving us petite perfection and will be happy to hop in the car for errands or a weekend get-away. We believe she is young, just over a year old, so she will likely grow just a bit more. Being on the younger side she is the prime age for learning, whether its everyday skills or party tricks, if you have a handful of treats, she is ready to learn. Her attentive nature is really charming and will only strengthen your connection and make you proud. We introduced Naomi to a handful of dogs and two things were immediately clear, she is dog-friendly and very playful! Her first meeting on leash was marked with excitement and it was easy to see she was ready to play. The greeting was bouncy, which is a bit the breed and a bit her age, but as soon as leashes were dropped she was off to play with her new friend. With each new dog we saw her range of happy, friendly play. A game of chase with one dog and a bit more rough and tumble with another. This is a dog that would love a playful canine companion in her forever home. Her play-style may not suit every dog, the older, more reserved dogs could find her to be too much but we are happy to help ensure it is a good match if you are an interested applicant. An ideal home would include a yard, for running and bouncing but also because she is working on some of the skills that are important for apartment dogs. She has basic leash skills but is still learning pulling is not welcome so the daily potty breaks on leash are not ideal while she is refining those skills. Naomi would be best suited for slightly older kids, 5+ ish, only because her happy bounce could accidentally knock over a little one on unsteady legs. No matter the size of the people in her life, be prepared- she is a kisser! Naomi is a cutie with the best personality in a perfect fun-size package. Potential adopters are encouraged to familiarize yourself with the breed if you do not have previous experience. Not all dogs fit their common breed personality traits but it is encouraged to be aware which will only help ensure she is a good fit for you. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/677d4ac5855bb093b8069064 We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $1000 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
