Story
Winston is a 7 year old, 35 lb, Carin Terrier mix, he is neutered and up to date on vaccines. Winston will do best with an experienced dog owner, as he has some fear and anxiety due to an abusive past. He prefers women over men, but warms up once he knows he is safe and will not be harmed. Winston is fearful of new dogs, but can get along with them after careful introductions and once he realizes they mean him no harm. Winston needs a quieter home, preferably with a fenced in yard where he feels safe. He has done well with young children in his extended family, but has had limited interactions with kids. We are unsure how he is with cats as they have never crossed paths. Winston likes to spend his free time napping, cuddling with his people or chewing on bones. He loves wearing sweaters when it’s chilly and cuddling on soft blankets. He doesn’t really play and is looking for a nice relaxing place to live out his golden years. Story
Chabelita, a 7 months old, 7lbs (almost fully grown) pub who made an amazing come back with much needed TLC. Just look at her before and after pictures. She’s dog, cat and kid friendly, spayed and needs a place to call home. Playful, fun, curious, and definitely not for an owner who wants her to be a lap dog. This is an active puppy and not suitable for individuals who have mobility challenges due to risk of tripping over her. Don't get us wrong, she can very well be a lap dog but she's a puppy and needs someone to interact with her, show her the world isn't scary, take her places and continue to involve her in social activity. Our adoption process is outlined on our webpage www.tascaslove.org and the application can be found at this link: https://bit.ly/4d7XoKd Adoption area: We prioritize homes within 45 miles of Silver Spring, MD. However, fantastic matches in PA, NJ, NY, and WV will be considered!

Story
Dixie is a very friendly, playful, affectionate, healthy, energetic, happy dog. She loves people and kids, playing with other dogs. She would make a great dog for anyone except for very young children because she may knock them over, or very old for the same reason. She is a solid 42 pounds. She crates well if needed and is also doing well on house breaking. strayheartsrescue@outlook.com https://forms.gle/suhbpui9RXiVmvoJ9

Story
MEET ROCKET!!   Rocket is an adorable 8 or so year old 7 pound cairn terrier mix who recently came to PAW from a local shelter.  He is a happy, curious, and friendly pup.  He would do well in an apartment as he doen't need much exercise.  He does have some vision loss but is able to navigate the world with no problem.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Per his foster mom:  "Don’t let his small stature and older age fool you;  this 7-pound senior cutie is ALL spunk and personality!  Rocket may come across as shy at first, but once he starts to settle in his personality really starts to shine. This spunky senior knows EXACTLY what he wants and he isn’t afraid to tell you. When Rocket talks, you should listen; he typically wants to go potty, eat, or play. Rocket is housebroken, but if you ignore his requests to take him out he will have an accident (he’s an old man and can’t hold it like the young-uns).                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Rocket gets along well with cats and mostly ignores other dogs. He has done well with children that understand how to be gentle with him. Rocket doesn’t need a big yard to roam, but enjoys wandering the small patio at his foster home to supplement walks (don’t worry, he walks well on a cat harness and leash and also rides well in a car). He loves short, slow walks with lots of stops to smell the roses and fire hydrants, and could never have enough LambChop stuffies.  Rocket is not a big cuddler during the day, but at night he loves sleeping in your bed with you or on the floor right next to the bed.                                                                                                                                                                               Rocket is looking for a home where he will get the gentle and patient attention he deserves and and his family doesn't mind having him be their constant shadow. PAW places animals in the Washington DC/Baltimore areas only. ##2090436##
