Story
Caramel is a super affectionate and loving girl. She had an unfortunate incident with a dog so she prefers to only be around cats and humans. She purrs and love affection. She likes to explore, lay in the sunshine and play with mice toys and feather toys. This cute little calico is available at the Petsmart in Highlands Ranch off Broadway!    ##2273326##

Story
Monkey is with six and a half year old calico she's a very loving Kitty. She does not get along with my dogs now that she was raised with she has become aggressive with them. She would be perfect in a single person's home. She does love to follow me around. She loves to sleep next to me. It makes me sad that I have to rehome her but she has become aggressive with my two other schnauzers. She just wants attention for herself she doesn't like to share her love. I work a lot of hours at night and I believe it's affecting her attention time which is making her aggressive to the other animals.

Story
Meet Pearl! Pearl is a real treasure. She has a lot of personality, and after you spend a little time with her, you realize you're in the presence of royalty. This kitty is regal and has an air of dignity and intelligence that is undeniable. She loves being with people, and does solicit affection and enjoys being near you. Lie down to do yoga, and you will soon find her lying on top of you. Sit at your office chair, and you will have an assistant lying on your lap or flopping on your keyboard. She is sociable, affectionate and so sweet. She also enjoys just lying on the top of her cat tower (because she is regal) and watching the birds and squirrels. She likes if you provide her time with her wand toys and will play for short periods, with you. She is friendly and warms up to new people coming in to the house quite fast... her foster mom calls her "the golden retriever of the cat world". She currently lives with 2 other kitties and a big, white dog. She can be a bit sassy with the other cats, so we're not sure about her going to a home with other kitties. She would do well with a dog who is known to be gentle and mellow around cats. She will gently let you know when she wants a break from being petted. You might need to learn a little about feline body language, but you will be rewarded in spades. She is healthy, microchipped and vaccinated and is approximately 3 years old. Whoever gives this girl her forever home will be rewarded with lots of love, affection and sweet companionship. For more info and/or to apply to adopt Pearl, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.

Story
Meet Fiona! She's a gorgeous Calico who loves all people that she meets and is now in amazing foster home in the Boulder area. Fiona is an affectionate, friendly girl with her beautiful fur and striking green eyes. Fiona's person passed away, leaving her alone for the past year and a half (!) where workers at a local car repair shop were taking care of her. They became attached to her, feeding her and giving her attention. Fiona now needs an adopter who will give her lots of affection, cuddles and a great home. In return, she'll be an incredibly sweet and loving girl who loves to purr and be with her people. She is confident and would love to curl up on a couch next to you for petting. She will make the perfect companion for someone who has time to nurture and build a bond with this sweet girl. This wonderful girl is about 5 to 7 years old, and is spayed and up to date on her vet care. For more info and/or to apply to adopt Fiona, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. Story
Tiger Jr. is a controversial character at the shelter. He's covered in scars, likely from fights that he picked. He would prefer to be the only cat in a household. He loves who he loves, and ignores who he doesn't. For those that he loves, he's an incredibly affectionate cat and a certified seat-warmer. For those that he doesn't love, he does not allow himself to be seen. Recently, he has started letting more people into his small circle of friendship.

Story
Lickerish and her sister, Cat Benatar, are looking for a home together. They have grown up at the shelter and have now been in a kennel for over 2 years. They have not had an opportunity to run or be normal cats. Despite this, they are constantly snuggling, grooming each other and playing in the small space they have. The reason these two are still waiting for a home is twofold: Lickerish has feline leukemia, which means she will have a severely limited lifespan. Somehow, Cat Benatar has tested negative thus far. As she has been exposed, she will have a higher likelihood of developing it at some point. These cats are so connected and bonded that we are choosing to keep them together, despite knowing that Lickerish has feline leukemia. The second part of the reason they are still at the shelter is because they are shy. With people they know, Lickerish is a lap cat and loves a good butt scratch. Cat Benatar plays a little harder to get but she'll circle and meow with bright eyes and such sincerity. They will need someone who can give them time to allow themselves to be who they are; they may always love each other more than they would love a human. We would love for them to find a home, especially as Lickerish is on borrowed time. Even a foster would be a step-up for them where they could live comfortably in a spare bedroom and at least have space to run around and properly play. They should be in a home without other cats or with other feline leukemia positive cats.

Story
Alright y’all. We have another odd couple that are looking for a home together. CJ is a petite little tortie with striking green eyes. She’s darling and she will follow her people around from room to room. She was previously very anti-humans, but has now decided she actually really likes petting. She won’t tolerate being picked up (yet) but she will likely continue to make strides.CJ befriended a cat at the shelter named Mel, one of our longest inhabitants. Mel also decided he likes humans, which is a new-ish revelation. He will allow himself to be held and loves/seeks out affection. He has a permanent grump face but we love him for it.These two fell in love. They’re often seen canoodling in the fluffy beds around the shelter or grooming each other to the point of PDA. They will need someone who doesn’t want lap cats. They’ll need a patient and understanding home and definitely someone cat savvy. These cats will likely continue to thrive in a home, but we want to make sure they stay together. An apartment or a home doesn’t matter to them: just each other.
