Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Skittles! How gorgeous is this little girl?! We just can't get over how pretty her coloring is. And she was an awesome personality to go along with her good looks. She is very relaxed and chill, especially for a kitten. She loves to sit on your lap, cuddle and be pet. What could be better?! She gets along great with all the other kittens she is being fostered with. Skittles and her siblings were abandoned along with their mother in a rural area of NC. Thankfully, a very nice family took them in and fostered them until they were old enough to be transported up to us to find their forever homes. She will need to be spayed when she is old enough. She is up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms       Adoption fee is: $150, plus $40 refundable spay/neuter depositCan’t adopt? Consider donating! We are in need of cat food, litter, and enrichment items for the kitties in our care!    Links to our Amazon and Chewy wishlists: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/QFBUQI1CQBCZhttps://chewygivesback.prf.hn/click/camref:1100lkBUr/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.chewy.com%2Fg%2Fdelaware-pet-rescue_b88829590 If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit a 'Cat Adoption Application'   at   www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms    This website is updated daily.  If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as 'available for adoption', that means the animal is still in DPR's care. *Please note - we do not do in-person meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up 'curb side'. Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. *     DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption:  Initial vet visit Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)Distemper vaccinationSNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart wormBroad spectrum dewormers Monthly flea/tick preventative Ear mite preventative The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries.  We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 5:41 pm

Story
Head and chin rubs, please!!!  Meet Coral, my beautiful tabico foster.  Coral came to me after having her left leg amputated, to gain her confidence living without a leg. Coral has come such a long way. Having her leg amputated has not slowed her down at all. She jumps, runs, plays without issue. Coral loves: food and treats, soft toys she can easily grab and cat nip. To see her growth and love grow over the last 3 months has been amazing. She went from a cat that did not really interact with me to jumping and running to me when I walk in her room. She lights up and meows at me until I pet her. Coral loves being having her head and chin rubbed as she sits there purring away.  To her future adopter: Please be patient with Coral as she adjusts to her new surroundings. She was very reserved at first, but within a month, she was playing, laying on the couch with me and loving life. Coral also loves her own space and laying in windows. She may enjoy being an only cat; however, Coral has been introduced to resident cats. She is unsure at times but only hisses, but with time and patience, I believe she would adjust perfectly fine with another laid back cat that gives her space. She does okay with my one resident cat that comes into her area. That’s because he just wants to be in the space and doesn’t bother her. Coral is playing with her foster family.  Please ask to meet her and have some playtime!  Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/.  Thank you!  (Foster:  Joanna S.)  August 19, 2024, 11:28 am

Story
Meet Margo! This gal is a beautiful tabico (tabby + calico) cat with a striking mix of orange, black, and white fur. Her soft coat and light green eyes give her a unique and charming appearance. This sweetheart has a gentle demeanor that makes her a true love bug. Her demure, scratchy meow is quite endearing and will draw you in for attention. She loves being showered with affection in the form of kisses on her head, bushing sessions, and all over body pets. While she's not entirely sure about being held, Margo loves to be close to her humans and we think she’ll enjoy cuddling up next to you. Special Note: Margo has blocked tear ducts, which is no big deal! It just means you'll need to wipe them from time to time.  Sociability: With People: Margo is very friendly and enjoys the company of people. We don’t know if she’s met children, but we think she’d be OK with proper introduction.  With Cats: Margo seems to get along well with other cats. With Dogs: Her experience with dogs is unknown. Come meet Margo at our Willow Grove Shelter! Submit a no-obligation application to adopt today: https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/ (Foster: Willow Grove). Not ready to adopt, apply to foster: https://forgottencats.org/foster-a-cat/ (Foster: Willow Grove) August 19, 2024, 11:28 am

LAP CAT ALERT!! Introducing Sunshine, the ultimate lap cat who’s here to bring her special brand of light and love into your home! This beautiful calico girl is all about cuddles and affection. During my visit, Sunshine showed off her lap-sitting skills by quietly strolling over and settling right onto my husband’s lap. Her sweet gesture of tipping her face up to catch his eye was her way of saying “thank you” and confirming their instant bond. Sunshine’s unique calico coloring adds to her beauty, making her not just a cuddle buddy but a stunning addition to any home.  She’s currently playing and sharing her affection with her pals Ewan (FCID# 05/16/2024 - 17) and Tuxie (FCID# 07/13/2023 - 105)  at our clinic/shelter, but she’s ready to find a home where she can be the center of your lap and your heart. If you’re looking for a loving feline friend who’s eager to snuggle and shower you with affection, Sunshine is your perfect match. Come meet her today and let this gorgeous girl bring her warm light and love into your life!
