Story
This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.   ##2300979##

Story
Dion is a big hunky guy looking for a home where he can get lots of snuggles. This extra large goober is very silly and active. He loves to go for walks and play in the yard, but is still working on his manners with walking nicely on leash and not jumping on his new friends. Dion has lived with another dog before and might be okay with a well matched friend with the right management. If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm – no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available dogs. Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog that’s a good match! To learn more about how to make the first few weeks with your new dog or puppy the most successful it can be, please visit www.mspca.org/petresources. For more information on our adoption process, please visit https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/how-to-adopt/ Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they’re interested in - and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat and small animal areas will remain open to walk through.

Story
Gordo is a big smushy guy looking for a special home of his own. This extra large fella doesn`t always remember his size and likes to try to be a lap dog sometimes. He enjoys go for walks and playing in the yard, but is still working on his manners with walking nicely on leash and not jumping on his new friends. Gordo doesn`t always like sharing his food or favorite things with other dogs, but he might be ableto live with a dog friend with proper management. Gordo has had surgery to repair an issue with his eye and has some skin issues, so a good relationship with a vet will be important. If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Boston Adoption Center. Story
Ruby is a six year old American Pitbull Terrier/Cain Corso mix from a hoarding case where she endured physical abuse and many hungry nights. We suspect that Ruby was born and raised in that environment and has never received exposure to the outside world. Due to this, it takes Ruby some time to warm up to you.Once she does, she is an in your pocket type of pup! A wonderful sponsor is willing to cover my adoption cost of $225.00 so I can be adopted and enjoy being someone's best friend! All adopters must be vetted and approved to adopt from FOCCAS.Ruby has a way of making you feel wanted, when she greets you with a wagging nub and sweet face after a long day! She is very quiet and doesn't mind other dogs but would do best with a Male. She likes long walks and is doing well with leash training, and knows sit, down, touch and shake already! She does excellent when her foster mom bathes her and clips her nails, and is very patient. She is sweet and gentle until something scares her, then she jumps. She's good on a leash until something startles her, then she pulls.... And she's strong. She's a beautiful girl. Loving and gentle, loves attention but hates excitement. She's not a guard dog, she'll hide behind you in the threat of great danger, or if a butterfly scares her. Quiet, soft, and sweet Ruby, she wants to be right at your feetFOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. My adoption fee has been donated by an anonymous donor!!! If transport is needed, $300.00 will need to be added to cover extra vetting and testing requirements by the department of agriculture and transport fees (out of state, East Coast, Great Lakes or New England regions).
