Story
Clarice is quite the sophisticated name for this girl, if she was your bestie you would probably call her Claire-Bear or Reese because it fits her fun-loving, warm side. If she was your bestie she would be the one who would say yes to an invite before you had a chance to explain the who/what/where. She is going, she will have a smile on, and she is guaranteed to be good company. We met Clarice on a dreary, cold miserable day and she managed to bring a double dose of sunshine. First, her face is adorable and her eyes sparkle. Second, she is so friendly and fun. In rescue it is always hard to pinpoint a breed but dogs like Clarice are especially fun challenges. Look at her, she is giving Collie/Corgi on the outside and all Labrador on the inside. Every person she met was as happy to meet her as she was to meet them, she exudes friendly and the cuteness is a bonus. Clarice is estimated to be just over a year old, weighs 43 lbs, and is not expected to get any bigger which makes her a perfect medium size adventure buddy. Take a look at her in all her goodness then come back to read more- https://youtu.be/7trJsypZ9j8 Clarice was introduced to a handful of dogs and she was consistently friendly. When introduced on-leash she was polite and quick to offer an invitation to play. Other dogs were dropped into the play-yard and she greeted them with the same friendly, playful invitation. She was fast-friends with a large, male shepherd who enjoyed a game of chase just as much as she did. With dogs that had a lower energy level she was wonderful at reading them, she would invite them to play without being pushy and would keep things light hearted. Clarice would love a forever home with an equally playful dog to bounce around with. Her love of chase would be best suited for a home with a yard but she could also adapt to an active household that can provide her with exercise and mental stimulation. She’s shown a natural skill reading other dogs, knowing when to play and when to keep things mellow, making her an ideal companion for a moderately playful canine sibling or a regular at your local doggie-daycare. While Clarice is full of enthusiasm, she’s also a quick learner. She’s still working on perfecting her leash manners, but at a year old, she has a great base. Her friendly nature with people and dogs can lead to her occasionally pulling to say hi. With a little training and practice, she’s going to be a walking pro who makes you proud. Clarice is a joy with people—so affectionate and sweet that she’ll happily roll over for belly rubs at any opportunity. During her touch test, she was quick to give kisses and showed how tolerant is, letting us pick her up without any fuss. If you have an open-door policy or love hosting, she would be a fantastic addition to your welcoming committee. She is going to spread good-vibes and may even be the biggest hit. If you’re looking for a bright-eyed, mid-sized bundle of joy who’s as ready for an adventure as she is for cuddles, Clarice is your girl. With her people-loving nature and playful spirit, she’s sure to be the best kind of companion—one who makes every day a little brighter. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Story
Meet Blossom Bingo! You’re already in love right? Me too, so let me tell you all about her. First off, those ears deserve a moment of their own, they are the cherry on top of the cuteness. You may not ever be able to sneak a snack on account of those ears but you won’t mind given how absolutely cute she is when she tilts her head to the side, perks those ears a little more and flashes her big puppy dog eyes. I hope you can be strong enough to not hand over your whole snack every single time. Blossom is so fortunate and is being fostered in a dedicated and loving home, living with other dogs and kids ranging from newborns to teens. Hello family girl Being fostered is something we like to highlight because of the amazing head start it offers them. Not only does it give us an intimate view of a dogs personality but they also get a natural environment to learn and master house manners and the rhythm of a busy home. Hello house and crate trained cutie! Blossom's foster has shared so many wonderful stories with us, all which come back to her having a fun personality and offering easy companionship. Given she is a rescue we cannot guarantee age or breed but she sure looks like there is some corgi in there. Blossom is estimated to be right around 2-2.5 years old and weighs 44 lbs. Aside from her ears the most notable feature of Blossom is her size, she is built like a deluxe model of a corgi, the deluxe is just slightly bigger than the “standard.” My son described her as a corgi who put a shepherds coat on to look fancy, and I couldn’t agree more! Her size and affectionate nature collided into her having strong aspirations for lap-side dog life. That is lap-dog adjacent, love and closeness without the full commitment to being in your lap. She may be just waiting for the right one to go full-lap-dog for so stay tuned. if you are looking available she will happily scooch right in beside you and its really easy to stay put for the cozy, cute love. Blossom lives happily with other small to similar size dogs in her foster home and during an afternoon together we introduced her to a handful of new dogs to get a feel of her”type” of playmate and her play style. It was clear, Blossom is built out of easy-going energy. She meets new dogs on-leash with confidence and a calm approach. If joining a home with another dog, she would do best with a slightly more mature dog who will be friendly but allow her to take it slow at first. Dogs that come in with a best-friend-now approach are not the most natural fit, she will back up and walk away, but a dog that is happy to meet and enjoy the same space with her, letting friendship grow slow are perfect! She is able to calmly correct if a dogs play is too much, so a dog that comes in quick but settles into a calm companion after the initial meeting would be great as well. Blossom was introduced to our house cat and her energy and approach showed us all the signs that she is cat-tolerant and could live with a feline friend. She was cautious and curious and because our cat is very dog savvy, he allowed her to smell and follow him without needing to swat or draw a boundary. If she had been swatted it would likely have set her sense of comfort back so she has potential to take a feline friendship very slow and cautious, or nice and easy, depending on the cat. Her foster home does have a yard she enjoys but given her size and calm nature, she could easily be an apartment girlie. Plus, she has great leash skills so potty breaks and walks will be nice for both of you. If you’re looking for a sweet, easy-going girl, who also happens to be absolutely adorable, you have found her in Blossom!
