Story
Do cozy, fantastical woodland scenes fill your daydreams? A good book, a warm cup of coffee and a majestic fawn at your feet? An adorable baby fox curled up in bed with you, as snow falls just outside your window? Bambi may be the dog to make these dreams feel like a reality. At an estimated 2 years old, and just 28 pounds, Bambi is a full grown baby woodland creature. She’s a super mutt if we’ve ever seen one, her exact breed makeup is difficult to discern but we believe there may be some Border Collie in there, maybe some Carolina Dog, maybe some Village Dog. Get to know Bambi here: https://youtu.be/-mV2RJcwAAI?feature=shared Bambi is a cozy, comfort dog. She loves to snuggle, and she loves to be pet. She enjoys laying between your legs, gazing up at you with those big doe eyes. She’s a people-loving dog, though she can be a little bit shy at first. Sweet Bambi just needs a few moments of gentle voices and soft pets to open up with new people, once she’s opened up to you it’ll be tail wags, snuggles and sweet little kisses. With other dogs, Bambi is friendly and forgiving. She tolerated our pushy puppies and big intimidating beefcakes here at the rescue with ease, trotting around the yard and occasionally even joining in on a game of chase. She is small dog friendly and met a 20 pound scruffy dog here at the rescue. Bambi is a softer, gentler kind of dog, and we suspect she’ll do best in a home with gentle players, or more mellow dogs. Bambi is currently fostered in a loving home, with dedicated foster parents and their two sons aged 5 and 10. She does great with the kids, she can jump for affection at times but she’s so gentle and light that it’s easy to forgive. She enjoys playing fetch with her human foster siblings, she’s a huge fan of the tennis ball. Her foster parents describe her as “super friendly and sweet.” In her foster home, Bambi is good in her kennel, going in with ease and not barking. She hasn’t had indoor accidents in her foster home, or here at the rescue. Bambi is such a gentle and patient soul with so much potential to be a perfect family dog. She’s endlessly tolerant and allowed us to poke, prod, and pick her up with ease. She does well in the car and waits patiently at her destination, not barking or whining to get out of the car. She’s still learning her leash skills but she takes direction very well. Bambi can alert to passing strangers at times, and she has been described as a vocal player. For this reason, we do not recommend her for an apartment. Bambi would make a perfect family dog, she has met kids as young as 4 at the rescue, and lives with a 5 year old. She would love a home with a yard, but a few leash walks a day will likely keep this girl happy. Bambi is such a precious, sweet and innocent girl, and she’s looking forward to her forever home. We are willing to test Bambi with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: ● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family ● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test ● 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion ● A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions ● 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription ● Coupons for a fun visit to Petco ● 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions ● Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer ● Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time. https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
