Meet Red Red is a gentle soul with a heart of gold. She came into WTAR with a litter of puppies, having clearly endured a tough life before arriving in our care. Despite it all, Red has remained incredibly sweet and resilient. She’s a bit shy and skittish at first, especially around loud noises, and tends to be anxious around men. However, with time and patience, she’s shown she can build deep trust—she now happily lays next to her foster dad and melts under his gentle pets. Red is fully potty trained and walks well on a leash, though she may pause when startled by sudden sounds. She would best thrive in calm, suburban environments where she can feel secure. Currently being fostered in downtown DC, she has learned to enjoy walks and does her excited little tippy tappys when the leash is grabbed. She absolutely loves the company of other playful dogs and would do best in a home with a canine friend to help her build confidence and share in the fun.
