Story
Meet Red Red is a gentle soul with a heart of gold. She came into WTAR with a litter of puppies, having clearly endured a tough life before arriving in our care. Despite it all, Red has remained incredibly sweet and resilient. She’s a bit shy and skittish at first, especially around loud noises, and tends to be anxious around men. However, with time and patience, she’s shown she can build deep trust—she now happily lays next to her foster dad and melts under his gentle pets. Red is fully potty trained and walks well on a leash, though she may pause when startled by sudden sounds. She would best thrive in calm, suburban environments where she can feel secure. Currently being fostered in downtown DC, she has learned to enjoy walks and does her excited little tippy tappys when the leash is grabbed. She absolutely loves the company of other playful dogs and would do best in a home with a canine friend to help her build confidence and share in the fun. If you’re looking for a kind-hearted pup who just needs a little patience and a lot of love, Red is ready to become your very best friend. Adoption Day: May 24th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM — an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may stick around until 12:00 PM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun!  ##2315327##

Story
Snowby's nickname is Snowball. He does a little twirl when going out for a walk. He gets along with most dogs so proper introduction is a must. He is very loyal and loving. He loves to run around with his doggie friends. He loves to sleep next his person(s). He would be be best suited to a household without young children. He is a great walking and car companion. He likes to be part of whatever activity is happening. He is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He is ideal for house or apartment living due to his smaller size. He can travel anywhere in the US and Canada. ##1499385##

Story
Meet Ocho! Ocho is a loving, playful pup who was rescued on Beltway 8 and has been an absolute joy ever since! He fit right in with his foster's dogs, quickly making friends with his kind and gentle nature. He’s always ready for snuggles and scratches, rubbing up against you for attention and love. This well-behaved boy is fully potty trained—no accidents in the house! He’s respectful of the home, sleeps soundly through the night in his own space, and has adjusted wonderfully to a busy schedule. Ocho is young and active, so he enjoys walks, backyard zoomies, and playtime with his furry friends. He’s not much of a barker but loves following his foster's dogs around, learning from them as he goes. One of his favorite things? Treats—especially dog cookies! And if you love to dance, Ocho will happily join in, making every moment even more fun. Ocho is truly a special dog with so much love to give. He would be the perfect addition to any home looking for a sweet, loyal companion! ****OCHO IS CURRENTLY IN TX, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc.). Our adoption fee is $350 plus health certificate ($50) transport ($200). This adoption fee includes all current basic vaccinations, deworming, microchip (with lifetime registration), fecal analysis, neuter, and a heartworm test. Story
I`m in a FOSTER HOME! For more information or to virtually meet me, email my foster parent at madisonsfosterpets@gmail.com,Femona is an energetic, affectionate, and playful 2-year-old Carolina Dog who loves sniffy walks and games that make her brain work. She`s incredibly smart, treat-motivated, and eager to please, which helps her pick up commands fast. She’s already a pro at sit, paw, down, touch, wait, and crate and she`s working on other fun commands including spin, sit pretty and roll over. If you`re looking to teach a pup increasingly creative commands, Femona is the dog for you. She loves learning new things and can’t wait to show off for you.She loves people and will happily be your little shadow around the house. She`s a great work from home buddy who is happy to snooze in the adorable `dingo donut` position that`s a Carolina Dog signature. When you`re ready to step away from your desk, she will dutifully accompany you on that journey. She prefers to be near her people, but she enjoys her crate and will quietly rest there for hours if you need to be away from the house. On walks, she`ll greet anyone who glances her way with tail wags. She`s learning to contain the enthusiasm to greet people calmly without jumping. She’s working on her loose leash walking skills — especially when she spots a squirrel or a few birds — but she`s doing better each day. At about 35 pounds, Femona is the perfect size — she isn’t a tiny pup who will trip you accidentally when underfoot, but she can’t drag you down the street either.Because of her prey drive, Femona`s probably not best suited for a home with a cat or other small animals. She’ll thrive with an active family who wants to teach her new things, accompany her on multiple walks each day, and play lots of her favorite game: TUG! Bonus points if you have a yard where she can enjoy the outdoors and birdwatch. Femona is smart as a whip and she`s ready for an action-packed life with you. Meet her soon!Femona is in a foster home. To meet her, email her foster caregiver at madisonsfosterpets@gmail.com

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/generic. You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.Dog's Name:  Hugo (HUG0425OWSMD)Estimated Breed:  Carolina Dog mix Approximate Age:  3-4 years Approximate Weight:  49 lbs Currently Living at:  FosterAdoption Fee:  $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Say Hi to Hugo! He is an active young boy, smart and playful. He especially loves to play fetch and tug. Unfortunately, he needs rehoming because his people must move out of the country. Hugo is well trained, intelligent and loves to learn new tricks. He is also social with people, but is shy around other dogs. Even though Hugo has lived in an apartment since he was a puppy, his ideal home would be a bigger apartment or even a home with a yard, so he has some space to get his zoomies out. He is a good boy and is not a barker, which makes for a more peaceful living arrangement. Hugo would be a good fit for most any household, ideally one that appreciates his playful energy and intelligence, and provides him with the love he deserves. Fill out an application today for Hugo, and let him bring a ray of sunshine into your life!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Meet Beth, a gentle soul with a soft demeanor who thrives in smaller, quieter environments. While she's social, she mainly keeps to herself and appreciates calm surroundings. Beth has a low to mid energy level and can be a bit timid at first, but her sweet and soft nature shines through once she feels comfortable. She would be the perfect companion for someone who enjoys peaceful, slow-paced moments.
