Hi there, I’m Mary Poppins! At just under a year old, I know I may catch your eye with my youthful charm and adorable face, but let me tell you a little more about myself. I’m a sweet, shy girl who’s still figuring out that the world isn’t so scary. Right now, everything feels a bit overwhelming, and I’ll need a family who understands that building trust with me will take time, patience, and lots of love.
While I’m still getting used to this new environment at FOHA, I’ve discovered one thing that helps me feel more like a carefree pup—being around other dogs! Watching them play and interact gives me a little extra confidence, so I might do best in a home with a calm, friendly dog who can show me the ropes.
I haven’t fully let my playful side shine just yet, but I’m starting to learn that tasty treats like cheese and hot dogs are pretty great. What I really need, though, is a family who’s willing to go slow with me, meet me a few times to let me get comfortable, and give me the time I need to blossom.
If you’re patient, kind, and ready to help me learn that people can be my friends, I just might be the perfect pup for you. I’m still new here, and I have so much to learn, but with the right home, I know I’ll find my confidence and grow into the wonderful companion I’m meant to be.
Could you be the one to help me write my next chapter? Let’s take it one step at a time—together.
Mary Poppins Foster Update
Great with dogs, needs a dog in the home for confidence, would LOVE a doggie playmate
Good with cats, wants to play but is not mean or harmful
Housebroken, can stay hours in the house alone with no issues, not crated, sleeps through the night with no issues
Ornery and Goofy - will pull your shoes out of the closet, throw your pillows off the bed, pull things out of you laundry basket, keep her engaged and exercised and she will not do this, not destroying just playing
Picky eater and grazer - likes to eat out of puzzles for amusement
No resource guarding
Wary of people - she follows me around the house, but is not a huge fan of petting, does not want snuggles, she will come to me on her own terms, but otherwise just wants to be near
Ideal home - other animals and absolutely a dog in the home, quieter home and neighborhood (i live down a quiet gravel road and she does great on walks), no city or apartment living, she would love a backyard to run around in with a canine buddy, understanding and patient owner
I’ll post more as I learn more and as her true personality comes out. Check out her profile in the comments for more information or to schedule a meet and greet.
