You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All dogs require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet any of our dogs.  Here is the link to the BFPA application:   https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC.   The application can also be found on bfpa.org. Maddy is a young dog (around 14 months old at the end of July)  who recently had a litter of puppies.  Named Madonna by the shelter staff, she was an excellent Mom to her Music Icon puppies and now Maddy is looking for her forever home.  She is bright, quick to learn, and oh, so loving, she would be Crazy for You!  Once it is safe for her,  Best Friend Pet Adoption will cover the cost of her spay.   Could you Open Your Heart for Maddy?  She is a very friendly dog and wants to enthusiastically meet all humans.  She can be excited when meeting new people, so she may be too active for very young children.  She would do fine with older children.   She is the perfect size at around 32lbs Maddy is currently being crate trained, and although not a fan initially, she is quiet and sleeps through the night in her crate.   She is house-trained  but should be taken outside on a regular schedule.    If an adopter works away from the home, she would need to be confined to a pen or crate until she understands the house rules.   Ideally, Maddy would like someone to stop by during the day to take her out for a walk or playtime. Maddy is still young and active so more than 4 hours in a crate during the day may be too long.  Please see the video of her playing!   This sweet Ray of Light could live with other dogs or would be fine as an only dog.  She is doing well with the 4 dogs in her current foster's home and loves to play.  Maddy is a Material Girl and likes to collect her toys into a pile on her bed! She lets people take them easily without any issue. Maddy is a quiet dog and while she would like a fenced yard, she would be fine with regular daily walks.  She would probably be fine with apartment living.  She is smart, loving, and will be a perfect addition for a family, couple or single person looking for a loyal companion.   Please consider giving Maddy the loving home she is searching for.  We will also consider a foster situation if you are not ready to commit to adoption now.   EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:  Maddy was found as a stray and taken to a local shelter.  She had puppies at the shelter. Best Friend Pet Adoption rescued Maddy and her 4 puppies.   Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants should ideally live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore prefer applicants that live within an hours drive of Cary NC. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. PLEASE NOTE:  All dogs on our website ARE available and require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application.  The link to our application is https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC or at bfpa.org.   You MUST submit a Best Friend Pet Adoption application to be considered.       Meet one of the Music Icon puppies...none other than Elton!  He is a such a friendly and happy puppy.  When Best Friend Pet Adoption went to the shelter to pick him up, he knew "Someone Saved My Life Tonight".  Elton wants to say" Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and follow it to his new home.  He likes  to play with other dogs and would love to have a canine friend in his new home.  But he could be an only dog if given lots of playtime and attention.  Could he come and amuse you?   Do you have the right  home for Elton? He could even live in a home without a piano:-)  His momma, Maddy, is a 32 lb mix dog who is also pictured above.  We feel that her puppies will be her size or maybe a bit larger. The video shows Elton, Elvis and a cameo appearance from their Mom, Maddy.  He is packing up his toys already and is getting ready for his next adventure in life! He wants to get going so quickly that we are  calling him "Rocket Man".  NOTE:  Elton cannot live in a multi family building without his own dedicated yard.  He is still susceptible to diseases. A townhome must have their own yard area. He cannot go anywhere in public and must stay only in his adopters home and yard until his second set of vaccines at the end of August.  So he needs a dedicated safe place to be outside where other unknown dogs have not been.   Puppies may nibble, bite and mouth so may not be appropriate for very young children unless they have had experience around dogs/puppies.   EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:  Elton was born at a shelter after his momma was picked up as a stray. Best Friend Pet Adoption quickly rescued both the momma and her 4 puppies.  They are all safe now and will live the rest of their lives in loving homes.  Maybe you can open your home for one of these lucky puppies?     Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants for puppies should ideally live within 60 minutes from Cary NC  since he must receive medical care in the Cary area. Best Friend Pet Adoption will cover all medical cost until Elton's adoption is finalized once he is neutered when he is around 6 months old.   Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live close to Cary NC.    INTERESTED IN ADOPTING ELTON ?
