Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contact Hannah at hannahlmazur@gmail.com for more information or to adopt the pet.Meet Stella! Seeking a new home for this gorgeous, sweet, almost 2 year old, 42lb, female, Mountain Feist / Carolina Dog mix.  We took her in 5 months ago and she is great with kids, plays well with other dogs (including at dog parks and doggy day cares), is house trained, crate trained, rarely barks, and listens well.  However, we think she should have a home with another dog or animals (farm) to play with and keep her company while her humans are away.  She is very intelligent and would make a great hunting companion as well.  She is spayed, chipped, and up to date on all shots.  Please message me if interested.  She is a gem! All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. August 20, 2024, 2:15 am

Story
Oh, sweet Alyssa, it`s incredible to see how much she has transformed. From being scared, timid, and shy to eagerly wanting to go on walks, she has come a long way. Even though she still feels uneasy meeting new people and is cautious in unfamiliar environments, her progress is truly heartwarming. The volunteers have been deeply moved by the beautiful confidence she`s gained. Please, come meet this precious pup, she might play a little hard to get at first, then you will see. She is worth it!

Story
Meet the effervescent and bubbly Reba! Recently "sprung" from an overflowing shelter, Reba got right to work catching up on the joys that life has to offer. Approximately 1 1/2 yrs old and 45 lbs, she is a mixed breed with possible Carolina Dog & Australian Cattle Dog parentage. In the short time we've known her, Reba has shown to be a confident, curious and affectionate pup that enjoys people, playing with other dogs, and is kitty compatible. Reba is incredibly smart and playful. While she loves to play with other dogs, she also prefers getting most of the attention from her people. She needs just a moment meeting new people to give them a good sniff, then once they pass her mustard she's on them like white on rice. :-) Reba is crate trained, house trained, spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and de-wormed. She's ready to light up your world! Interested in learning more about Reba? Don't call. Story
I adopted Nellie from the local animal shelter a few years ago. Nellie was 9 months old then and will be turning 4 in October. She was a rescue dog that struggled terribly with social interaction with people and other dogs. She was very timid and speaking in a loud tone frightened her, she was also timid around men. She is much better now, and typically warms up to people fairly quickly if you have a gentle approach. She is now social, loves going to the dog park and playing with other dogs. She is good children. She is very playful and is both energetic and can also be relaxed. She loves to run so if you have an open spacious yard for her she would love it. She is a barker, she barks at cars, the mailman, people she may see walking by in the neighborhood, however in her loyal and protective nature she has never done more than bark. She is up to date on all her shots. Nellie’s breed mix sheds quite a bit when shedding their winter coat, brushing her daily helps.
