*Courtesy Listing* - This cat is not with Helping Paws Rescue and you should contact Amanda at 317-363-1677 (Text to start would be best) or aussieluver25@aol.com if interested She is an almost 8 year old (will be 8 on April 5) DSH Tortie. Sweet as can be! She is looking for a new home because she is no longer happy in her current home. She started urinating outside the box over a year ago. She has been checked by a vet and all is normal. She has been started on a prescription urinary stress food along with being prescribed Prozac. That really seemed to help but recently she has started defecating outside the box. I did treat her for arthritis but that didn’t seem to help. We love her very much and want what is best for her and we believe she would be happier as an only cat or maybe 1 other cat in the household. She loves my son and we ask if we can possibly get updates so he knows she will be okay.

This affectionate cat is your natural door greeter. He lets others know he likes to be scratched behind the ears, yet he is polite enough to step aside if company is not interested. He is fun to watch chasing unpredictable laser toys, but sometimes just watches. Yet at eight years old, he sleeps a little more than he used to. Then he will interrupt you for a little love and petting. He may sleep on your bed or nearby in the room. He is popular with people; but he is a pushy alpha cat sometimes when with other cats. Don't take me wrong. They like each other. But he is in charge. Around early 2021, like many entering their senior years, his bladder started bleeding. He had crystals and interstitial cystitis, now controlled by special diet. He is a special needs cat, yet when I think of him or see him, I see such spirit and love. You will not be disappointed with this attractive furball.

Hi! I’m Tinga. I was adopted from IACS in February. 6 months later my previous owner tried to return me due to landlord fees. The shelter is already overcapacity and requires appointments. I was about to be dumped outside when one of the workers decided to take me home and try to re home me themselves. At first I was at my house, and then I was put in a box, taken back to the scary shelter, and then taken to a random place that I’ve never been before! I was so confused! I hid under the bed for a whole day. I never showed any signs of aggression I was just scared being in this unfamiliar place. But once I came out I let her know how sweet I was and how much I love pets. Now I cuddle and lay on the bed instead of under. She already has two cats and a dog in a one bedroom apartment with low funds. If her situation was different she would love to have me. I am around a year and a half and have lived with another cat in my previous home. I am playful and so nice :)

we think jody was dumped. we found him 7/28/23 in our yard close to our house. we were told he was approx 12 wks old. he's around a year old now but still looks like a kid. we have four other cats, two other dumped cats and two adopted from a shelter. they are all older than jody and have never bonded with him. we don't get to spend enough quality time with him but he loves to play and eat and sleep. he might do well with a medium sized dog. he would probably do well with other young, male cats because he really just likes to wrestle. unsure about how he would do with children but he might be ok if the children are old enough to understand what cats are like. we feel there are many other homes where he could thrive and be the best jody he can be. the most important thing for him is access to windows with something to sit and lay on while he's looking out of them.
