Story
Huey is one of the sweetest, most snuggly cat's I have ever met. The only reason we are looking for a new home for him is because we just had a new baby and he is a bit too snuggly for us to trust him around the baby. He is about 3 years old, and would make a fantastic lap cat for an individual or family with older kids who would be able to give him the love and attention he craves. He loves to jump on laps and will try to lick your face and rub his nose all over you. He's very friendly with every person he's come in contact with. One thing to note is that he sometimes picks on our other cat, mostly because he's vying for attention. He would make a great cat for someone who lives alone who can dote on him.

Story
We found Cheeto with her sister at a few days old in our backyard shed and have had her for 6 years. She has always been super cuddly and friendly to kids and strangers. She is an indoor cat but loves window watching. She loves a good nap on a lap!

Story
I found Gucci a few days old in my backyard shed about 6 years ago with her sister. She is a little shy and quiet but does like to be pet and played with daily. She gets a little nervous around kids but is still friendly. She doesn’t like when her paws are touched but doesn’t ever get aggressive towards anyone about it. She loves kneeding biscuits on blankets! I’m sad that we have to give her away but all my family has had cat allergies and our doctor reccomended we get rid of them especially due to my brothers asthma.

Story
Dovey was born in June of 2021 with her three brothers on an acreage near Albert Lea. Dovey has worked hard on her trust issues and is now ready to provide love and companionship to some very lucky humans! She is a curious and playful girl who loves her kitty friends and is learning that laps are a pretty great place to be! Due to her wilder start in life, she will probably thrive best in a home with adults and older children, and will need a bit of time and patience to allow her wonderful personality to bloom! She is also an avid fly hunter, bird watcher and loves tailbone scratches! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.

Story
Felix and his siblings came to us after being found as strays when they were around two months old. We believe Felix was born in August of 2021, and would do well with older children and other animals with proper introduction. Felix is one of 6 in his litter and he is the shy guy of the group. He is very quiet and a bit reserved, but does like to be petted once he knows you. He also enjoys cuddling with his kitty friends and would prefer to have a feline friend in his new home! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. Story
Say hey to Doll! Doll came to us after being live trapped during a TNR project when she was around 6 weeks old. We believe she was born in October of 2021. When Doll first came to us she was VERY scared of humans and shelter life. Since then she has warmed up and likes to be petted, get a few tummy rubs and maybe the occasional tail bone scratch once she gets to know you. She will roll over and purr for you but is still nervous of loud noises and fast movements. She will need some extra time to adjust in her new home, and would do best in a home with older calmer children and animals. She is gaining more confidence every day with humans, and will make a wonderful kitty for someone that will give her the time she needs to settle in. All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee.
